Greetings!
Summer Reading is now upon us and the sun is shining...oh wait the sun it's gone...hey now it's back!
No matter what the weather, Summer is a perfect time to find a new passion, cozy up to a great book, learn a new skill, meet some neighbors at your favorite spot, or find fresh ways to have fun! We hope that you take a look at our library events or pick out a new book (or eBook) that sparks joy.
For this year's Summer Reading & Activity board, I worked with our library team to design a bilingual board that is accessible for all ages in our community. Art is something that has always sparked joy for me, so I was delighted to draw the various elements this year - including a school of sardines to color to track your reading progress. Across the country, libraries are using the "Find Your Voice!" theme but we wanted to find creative ways to tailor our game & programs to you - our community. Let's celebrate the diversity of life within the people and nature surrounding us in the Monterey Bay.
If you're always on the go and looking for more eBooks - I recommend you check out the new Palace Project App for iOS and Android devices. This is a collection of eBooks in addition to our Cloud Library & Libby collections! Just make sure you get a game board, and color in those sardines...no matter what age you are. And if you really want to meet a great group of people, share your skills, and support the library - please think about joining the Monterey Public Library Friends & Foundation Board. Application info is below!
Warmly~
Brian
