Greetings,

I'm excited to see the variety of events that your Monterey Public Library staff have planned for this summer. Thanks to generous donor support, we are able to provide a wide variety of programs throughout June and July! Our staff have been working to create a summer of fun activities that stir curiosity. I'm happy to hear when I'm talking to people about the "life" "energy" or "vibe" that they experience here at the Monterey Public Library. Just know that our entire team is engaged in serving the community and finding ways to improve services to you. We aspire to make the Library a community destination, and not only a transactional space.

Starting Monday, June 1st, you can pick up a game board for all ages here at the Library or at the Bookmobile. While you're here, make sure to pickup our June & July calendars to see the different activities we have for all ages. The theme this year is "Plant a Seed, Read" with the library nourishing our minds, family, culture, and community. We all hope that you find something that inspires you or brings you back into the library doors to learn something new.

Happy summer!

IT'S A CLASSIC

This month’s Book Flight Book Club features a true classic, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, published in 1813. Whether you are reading it for the

first time or revisiting it from your high school English literature days, join

us for a lively discussion about the witty Elizabeth Bennet and often misunderstood Mr. Darcy. Together, we will explore themes of social

status, awkward romance, financial security, and personal growth in

one of literature’s most beloved books.
