Montgomery County Member News
Friday, May 22, 2020

Hello to our Montgomery County Residents,

We have had a couple of members working to find out whether they are allowed to return to work as an LMT in health care setting. The answers were no, however they were worded.

This evening a member shared a reply that is clear and concise, from someone who clearly understands the question. We were given permission to share it with you all.

Massage Therapy must remain closed in Montgomery County. We will share updates when we learn that this ruling has been changed.

Thank you for contacting the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services to inquire if it is permissible to resume a massage businesses in Montgomery County due to the Maryland Secretary of Health allowance of Elective and Non-Urgent Medical Procedures.

In accordance with the current Governor's Executive Order, 10-05-13-01, to allow local government to be more restrictive and due to the persistence of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services has determined that all massage services is required to remain closed until the numbers start trending in a more positive direction.  Your cooperation during this difficult and unfortunate period is appreciated.

Cordially,
Kenny Welch
