   Events to Boost Party Treasury

At its first quarterly meeting of 2013, the CEC adopted a 2013 budget of $73,000 that is designed to maintain all of the successful programs and services administered and directed by the CEC and the County Headquarters. The annual Lincoln-Reagan Dinner
2013 Lincoln Reagan Dinner
Attorney General Greg Abbott speaking at the Lincoln Reagan Dinner
held on February 15th was the first event held to assure the budget line item of $65,000 for fundraising events is met. The event featured sterling performances by Senator John Cornyn, Attorney General Greg Abbott, and Congressman Kevin Brady, and added over $26,000 (40% of the budget line item) to the treasury while limiting the overhead to 35%. State Representative Brandon Creighton did a terrific job as the event's Master of Ceremonies.    Special credit for this success goes to Event Chairman Brigitte Izzo, to Mary Lea Kirk, Merrillyn Kulis, Pearl Maggio, Alice Melancon and Sara Reardon for table center pieces and to Dorothy Woodall, Judge Claudia Laird, Sandi Curtis, Beverly Sisk, Maureen Cromeans, Donna Gossett, Ann Herbek and Sandra Bolen for manning the registration tables.

Insperity Golf Tournament Open House Fundraiser
The Insperity Golf Tournament Open House Fundraiser was a wonderful event! Attendees walke
Famous golfers at Insperity Tournament
Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Gary Player all on the 9th green together - just outside our back door during the fundraiser
d the short distance from the Byrd home to the 18th green where they were treated with the opportunity to witness up close golf legends Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Jack Nicholas, Gary Player and many others. They then were treated to Holly's wonderful array of delicious food and refreshing drinks. The day ended with the TV production of the Kentucky Derby. The proceeds of the event benefited the Party treasury. Thanks to Holly and Bill for their generosity! Bill Byrd provided us the photo to the left of some famous golfers who will likely never golf together again.

The Montgomery County Republican Party is pleased to announce a new addition to our website, which will facilitate communications with Precinct Chairmen. A website has been created for each of the precincts in the county. Each website includes the ability for precinct residents to contact the Precinct Chairman, who is identified by name and photo. The website also includes a map of each Precinct. "This is an example of how the Party is working to upgrade our Precinct organization," Chairman Wilkerson said. "Each Precinct Chairman will eventually be able to add pages and links to their websites," Melinda Fredricks, creator of the sites and manager of the Party website at www.mcrp.org. "I want to be sure to thank Headquarters Volunteer Kelli Clark who helped with the creation of the Precinct websites," Fredricks added. All precincts' websites can be found by clicking here. Visitors may then scroll down to the residents Precinct number and click on "Website" in the far right column. If you do not know your precinct number, you can find it by clicking here.

The Legislature Connection

The Texas Legislature is currently in session and will close on May 27. Montgomery County has reason to be proud. Both of our State Senators lead powerful Committees: Senator Tommy Williams chairs the Senate Finance Committee and Senator Robert Nichols chairs the Senate Transportation Committee. Representative Brandon Creighton chairs the House Select Committee on Federalism and Fiscal Responsibility, and was elected by his fellow Republicans as Chairman of the House Republican Caucus. The County's two freshman legislators, Cecil Bell (House District #3) and Steve Toth (House District #15), are performing at the highest level.

Our State Representatives and State Senators are doing a great job of keeping us informed through emailed reports. If you are not yet receiving their newsletters, you can ask to be added to their mailing lists by emailing them at the following addresses:
