Summertime Is Here At Last!

Spring showers are (hopefully) a memory and the sun is breaking through the clouds. Summertime is here at last. This means we can get out into the great outdoors and volunteer at events, fairs and festivals to help our neighbors in need. A big thank you goes out to all our volunteers who make a difference every day!

Make a Difference:  June Is Pride Month

In the latest episode, host Florence Jewell marks June as Pride Month by discussing unity, engagement, solutions and volunteerism with two of Montgomery County’s LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Plus) community leaders. She speaks with Phillip Alexander Downie, chief executive officer of Montgomery County Pride Family: MoCo Pride Center, Inc.. Florence also speaks with Dr. Amena Johnson, the County’s first LGBTQ+ community liaison supporting the County Executive and the LGBTQ+ community, parents, allies and teachers of LGBTQ+ residents.
