Walk the Historic Path

The Montgomery Open Space Committee’s annual Trails Day is this Saturday, June 6! Participants are invited to enjoy a guided hike through Van Horne Park and learn about Montgomery’s historic involvement as a crossroads of the American Revolution!

The event is free to attend and available for all ages. The pathway at Van Horne Park is paved with level terrain throughout, creating a suitable activity for all abilities. Participants are encouraged to bring water and binoculars for birdwatching. Questions can be sent to Lauren Wasilauski at lwasilauski@montgomerynj.gov

Sponsor the Show!

The Recreation and Monty Rev250 Volunteer Committees are looking for donations for the 2026 Montgomery Fireworks and 250th celebrations. There are a range of sponsorship opportunities for businesses, families, and community groups. Those who donate at the top sponsorship levels will receive permanent recognition through engraved plaques installed on benches in Montgomery Veterans Park.

Donations will support the fireworks display in addition to the showcase, revolutionary reenactors, a public mural project, an ecological garden, and permanent recognition installations. More information for corporate sponsors can be found here. More information for individual donors can be found here.

Know the Road

The township is excited to announce the upcoming opening of the long-awaited loop roads! This project is a major milestone in our effort to improve traffic and ease daily commutes as we look forward to the opening of Montgomery Promenade. These loop roads are designed to improve traffic flow and relieve congestion at the intersection of Routes 206 and 518.

Once the final roads are constructed later this summer, drivers will no longer be able to make left turns directly from Route 206 onto Route 518. Instead, motorists will use the new loop roads to access Route 518. The Montgomery Engineering Department has created an interactive map of the new traffic pattern to help motorists visualize the changes before getting on the road. Find more information on the new loop roads here.

The 58th annual Strawberry Festival is coming to Montgomery this weekend! Hosted by Montgomery Scout Troop 46, the festival runs from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Lower Middle School. Mayor Neena Singh and the Montgomery Mayors Wellness Campaign will offer a fun and healthy activity around 3 p.m. for all attendees. Find more information, including ticket prices, here

Lace up your sneakers and join the Mayors Wellness Team at Run with Rotary later this month! The 18th annual event will kick off at 8:00 a.m. in Skillman Park. The family-friendly event invites all community members to join and earn monetary prizes for local organizations. All prizes earned by the Mayors Wellness Team will be donated to the Montgomery Food Pantry. Sign up for the team here!
