Click It or Ticket

The Montgomery Police Department is proud to participate in the NJ Division of Highway Traffic Safety’s Click It or Ticket Campaign. The statewide campaign encourages high-visibility enforcement and public awareness efforts to increase seat belt use and reduce preventable deaths and injuries on our roadways.

Increased patrols will be conducted in our community and across the state through May 31. In New Jersey, the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day has historically been a dangerous time on the roads, with increased travel and a heightened risk of crashes. We urge all motorists to continue to adhere to all laws and safety protocols to keep our roadways safe.

Countdown to Camps!

The Montgomery Rec N Crew Summer Camp begins next month! The six-week camp invites students entering first through sixth grade to enjoy outdoor, summer activities. Students entering seventh through ninth grade are invited to apply to the Rising Leaders program to assist with the Rec N Crew Camp. Older students will receive specific training and rotate among groups to gain leadership experience and foster community engagement.

Be advised that the Montgomery Department of Parks and Recreation has switched to CommunityPass for online registration for summer programs. Find more information on programs and registration here or contact Jessica Gonzalez at jgonzalez@montgomerynj.gov

Senior Volunteers Needed!

In celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary, Montgomery Lower Middle School invites members of the senior community to enjoy a meaningful day of learning and connection. Senior volunteers will be partnered with a fifth or sixth grade homeroom and journey alongside students as they explore local history, engage with interactive presentations, and reflect on how our community continues to grow and evolve.

Participants will also work together to paint tiles, kicking off the Rev250 Committee’s Community Art Project. Throughout the summer, there will be several opportunities for community members to design and paint a tile. Once complete, two tile mural designs will be installed. The Liberty Tree will be installed in the Montgomery Municipal Center lobby and the Unity Tree will be placed on the barn at Montgomery Veterans Park. Interested seniors can contact Camille Faulknor at cfaulknor@montgomerynj.gov or (908) 533-9190.

Join the Open Space Committee for a guided hike related to Montgomery’s historic involvement as a crossroads of the American Revolution! Participants will learn how our township became a designated Victory Town and the historic Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route. Find more event information here

The 58th annual Strawberry Festival is coming to Montgomery next week! Hosted by Montgomery Scout Troop 46, the festival runs from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on June 7 at the Lower Middle School. Mayor Neena Singh and the Montgomery Mayors Wellness Campaign will offer a fun and healthy activity around 3 p.m. for all attendees. Find more information, including ticket prices, here
