Independence Day Celebration Tonight
Don't Miss the Fireworks Spectacular!
|
There will be lots of fun for the whole family on the front lawn of Montgomery High School tonight! (Below are a few reminders.) Starting at 6 pm, there will be plenty of games and activities for children, food vendors selling everything from hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled chicken and pizza to delicious deserts like cheesecake, ice cream and the ever-popular kettle corn and funnel cakes. Get there early to get a great picnic spot under the stars!
Enjoy the sounds of The John Oakes Band, back for another year
playing great hits from today and yesterday at 7:00 pm. After the singing of the Star Spangled Banner at dusk (approx. 9:15 pm), get ready for a spectacular display of patriotic fireworks, sure to bring out the kid in everyone!
PARKING:
There will be free parking in Skillman Park, across Rt. 601. Please cross safely at the crosswalk. There will be continuous shuttle buses running from the Upper Middle School, Burnt Hill Road, Skillman to the high school from 6 to 9 PM. The shuttle back will begin again after the fireworks have ended until everyone is served. There will also be also limited free parking behind the high school at Cougar Stadium, entering from the side high school entrance on Skillman Road. Handicapped parking spots are available with a handicapped tag in front of the high school at no charge.
The $15 priority parking passes for in front of the high school have now SOLD OUT.
REMINDERS: Don't forget your blanket or chairs. This is a no alcohol event and all pets must remain safely at home.
Thank you to the Fireworks Fundraising Chairman, Steven Shueh and Recreation Director Karen Zimmerman who work extremely hard to see the Independence Day Celebration tradition in Montgomery Township continue as a wonderful night of unity and community for all.
Mayor Sadaf Jaffer commented, "Montgomery's Independence Day event is a great time for the entire town to come together and celebrate. Enjoy the music, the rides, the food, and, of course, the amazing fireworks. Catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Please join us!"
"Most of all, the spectacular fireworks will be the star of the show! My thanks to our Corporate Sponsors, who support us year after year, and help ensure that the Montgomery Fireworks provide joy and fun to our entire community," said Montgomery Fireworks Committee Chairman Stephen Shueh.
