The amended Housing Element of the Master Plan and Fair Share Plan, commonly known as the township’s affordable housing plan, is available on the township website here. Residents are encouraged to read and review the plan prior to the formal public hearing scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23.
The planning board held an informational session on Monday, Feb. 9 to present the amended plan. Residents can view that meeting here.
Apply: Louis Bay II Scholarship Competition
The New Jersey League of Municipalities has announced the annual Louis Bay II Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition for high school juniors and seniors planning to continue their education.
Participants are invited to apply and submit an essay with the “What I Like About My Hometown.” One essay will be selected and the writer will represent the township as a state semi-finalist. Their essay and application will then be reviewed by the league’s Scholarship Committee who will select three winners to receive $1,000. Applicants and essays must be sent to tnovak@montgomerynj.gov by 4 p.m. on March 12. Interested applicants can find more information and supporting documents here.
Attend: Rabies Clinic This Sunday
Online applications for annual dog and cat licenses are still open. Licensing can be completed at the free rabies clinic Sunday, Feb. 21 at Otto Kaufman Community Center from 9 a.m. to noon.
Licensing ensures the protection of pets, their owners, and members of the community against rabies and other communicable diseases.
