The Community Blood Center shared the following statistics from our recent blood drive on Jan 6 that was co-sponsored by the Parkville Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Parkville –

•            Donor Flow (how many each hour): 4, 5, 3, 4, 1, 5
•            First Time Donors: 7 (This is wonderful!!)

Platte Senior Services, Inc. (PSSI)  has a need for volunteers to help with Meals on Wheels drivers, especially on Mondays. Hours would be approximately 10:30 am – 12:00 pm with meal pick up at the Platte County Resource Center (11724 NW Plaza Circle Drive, KC, MO). Couples/teams are encouraged to apply.

PSSI is very flexible! If a volunteer/volunteers could only help one Monday per month, we would be so grateful! We also need volunteers or volunteer teams that could work as substitute drivers from time to time on any of our routes throughout Platte County (we would give them sufficient notice).

Meals on Wheels drivers have the unique ability to share a friendly face and deliver a hot, nutritious meal to our neighbors. It’s a wonderful opportunity to give back and stay connected to our community and fellow Platte County citizens.

Please contact Deanna Adkins, Volunteer and Development Specialist at Platte Senior Services, 816-270-4100.
Parkville residents have several options to get rid of unwanted materials, yard waste, household hazardous waste, and other recyclable materials throughout the year. Find out more about your recycling and waste disposal options here.
Thank you to our January/February
business renewals!
