Elevate Your Craft: A Special Event for Skill Seekers

In November, the Knitting Group is excited to showcase the talents of two of our members. Ruth Stevens will demonstrate Drop Spindle spinning, while Linda Sorenson will demonstrate her skills in spinning with her wheel.


The Knitting Group is a great place for all knitters and provides a place for those who need new knit friends to come and meet one another. It is a place where knitters can expand their skills in a setting where creativity and knitting possibilities are limitless. All experience levels are welcome to join. The Knitting Group will put the finishing miniature knitted items for the Christmas fundraiser at Settlers Green.

The Poetry Group will meet every 1st Thursday of the month in the Periodical Room from 4:00-5:30 pm. The Poetry/Writer Group is where fellow lovers of poetry are encouraged to come to write and read their poetry or recite poems from their favorite authors. November's theme is "Appreciation: Words associated with appreciation." Expressing poems, stories, and prose to see where the word of appreciation is displayed in everyday usage, as well as applying synonyms for further exploration.

Survival and Reckoning after a climb gone wrong.


The story of a climbing adventure gone wrong in a remote Alaskan Mountain Range, the impossible rescue attempt that followed, and the fraught cost of survival.


Local author Michael Wejchert is a writer and a climbing guide. He has climbed rock, ice, and alpine routes all over the world. Michael writes about climbing and adventure for Alpinist, Adventure Journal, Climbing, and the New York Times.


Michael Wejchert will personalize and sign his books. Hidden Mountains will be available for purchase. This program is brought to you by the Friends of the Library and is part of their program series.

LFG: Looking for Group

On the third Monday of each month, from 5-7 pm drop in to collect, strategize, play, read, and meet others interested in LFG games. Looking for Group (LFG) is a place for tabletop gamers to organize groups for games they love to play, including Magic the Gathering.


This group is a place where new players can feel welcome and encouraged. Countless worlds and realms await to be conquered in tactical gameplay or discovered in the chapters of gripping novels. All experiences & interest levels are welcome.

You're invited to join Caitlin and Brenda's Game Club every Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Ham Room.

This event is for adults with intellectual disabilities to get together and play board games, card games, and/or work on jigsaw puzzles, etc. Each participant must be accompanied by a support person and may bring lunch if they choose.

Join the Conway Public Library's Book Group every third Monday to discuss the book of the month. For November, the book choice is Accountable: The Ture Story of a Racist Social Media Account and the Teenagers Whose Lives It Changed by Dashka Slater. Extra copies will be available behind the front desk.

Thanks to the New Hampshire Law Library, non-attorneys or attorneys not working on behalf of a client can get remote access to Westlaw, a premier legal research database closer to home at the Cook Memorial Library in Tamworth. Access is provided at the library on one of the library's public computers.

When making copies, you can choose between vibrant colors and classic black-and-white options. However, the copier defaults to color.

Festival of Trees
