Chamber News
The Parkville Area Chamber of Commerce is growing!
So far in 2021, we have had 30 new members join the Parkville Chamber - Thank you! One way we help promote your business as a member is through our New Member bags, which are given to every new member. If you have business information, flyers, coupons, calendars, logo items, etc, that you would like to share with them, please contact the Chamber office. We want to bring awareness to your business among our new Chamber members!
Ribbon Cuttings
Another perk of joining the Parkville Area Chamber of Commerce is having a ribbon-cutting. This is a great way to let the community know about your new business, new location, or just a facelift! If you would like to schedule a ribbon cutting, please contact the Chamber office and we can get it on the calendar!
Member Survey
As we prepare for 2022 we continue to work on how we can promote our members. One idea we are considering is a "Member of the Week" program. Each week a member would be introduced to the Chamber, and throughout the week we would ask that our members visit their business, introduce themselves, and get to know them. We will be sending out a member survey this month and ask that you take a few minutes to respond. We would love to hear your thoughts and ideas, and yes, even constructive criticism. :)
2022 Membership Directory Business Information

We recently sent an email to each member requesting corrections or updates to your business information. If any corrections are needed, please contact the Chamber office, or feel free to make these updates by going through your member area. We use your website listing for the directory and we want to make sure your information is current.

Please contact the Chamber office if you have questions.

City Completes Intersection Improvements on Route 9 at 6th Street

The City of Parkville completed intersection improvements on Route 9 at 6th Street. The improvements were recommended in the Route 9 Corridor Study adopted in 2015 and in a traffic study completed for the Six at Park development.

To assist with the construction of the project, the City applied for and received the Governor’s Transportation Cost Share Program grant and a cost-share agreement with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Committee. The grant covered 50 percent of the cost and the City’s local match was 50 percent. The City was awarded the Governor’s Transportation Cost Share Program grant because Six at Park project demonstrated economic development through the creation of new jobs.

Construction of the improvements by MegaKC began in May and was substantially completed in September. They include northbound and southbound left-turn lanes, a northbound right turn lane, an eastbound right turn lane on 6th Street, a 10-foot trail on the east side, a five-foot sidewalk on the west side, curbs and gutters, asphalt roadways, and street lights.

Mayor Nan Johnston said, “The City is excited that the intersection improvements have been completed. This section will match the City’s plans for the Route 9 Corridor from Highway 45 to Mattox Drive.”

For more information about the project, contact Public Works Director Alysen Abel at (816) 741-7676.
