Blood Shortage Reaches Emergency Level

Community Blood Center announced yesterday that the local blood shortage has reached emergency levels as fears of the COVID-19 Delta variant are leading to an even greater drop in donations. As you may know, our region has been experiencing a chronic blood shortage since the onset of the pandemic, but local inventory has further dropped to a less than 3-day supply of readily available blood, with our Type O blood sitting at an alarming .5-1 day supply. Yet again, our situation has become critical and we are asking our communities for help.

The Parkville Area Chamber has partnered with CBC for this emergency blood drive. If you are able to donate, please register here as soon as possible using Group Code CB37
CHA Survey

The Community Input Survey, organized by the Northland Health Alliance is designed to collect data from those that live, work or play in Platte or Clay Counties. The data collected via this survey will be used to create the Community Health Assessment. The goal is to collect at least 1,800 responses across both counties.
