City Offices are CLOSED in observance of Good Friday.

8th St/Highway 33 Road Construction

The Second phase of Reconstruction has officially begun. A-1 Excavating, along with several other skilled crews, have been diligently working on removing pavement and performing preparatory work in three different road segments.in Baraboo and West Baraboo. This is in preparation for the installation of a new water main and sanitary sewer. Work will begin on water laterals throughout the three road segments later this month. The three road segments in the second phase are expected to be finished around early June.

Highway 33 is closed to thru traffic. The official detour for Thru Traffic is I90/94 (exit 106) to USH 12 (Lake Delton - Exit 92) to Highway 33.

Local Traffic is encouraged to use the posted local detour route from County Highway X to County Highway W to State Highway 113 to South Blvd. to State Highway 136. The estimated completion date for the balance of this project (Lincoln Avenue to Mulberry Street) is mid-November 2024. We Thank You for your renewed patience and indulgence as progress continues on Highway 33! For questions or concerns please contact Tadd Owens, Project Manager, at 608-617-5460.

Please Remember that ALL LOCAL BUSINESSES are still open!

2024 CURBSIDE LEAF COLLECTION

City of Baraboo Spring Leaf Collection is scheduled begin Monday, April 15 and end Friday, May 10th. Pickup will begin in Monday’s refuse collection route and then move through the daily refuse collection routes. Individual routes may take several days to complete before we move to the next route. The City encourages residents to have leaves placed unbagged on the treebank for collection by 7:00 a.m. Monday, April 15. When all routes have been collected once, the crew will start over on Monday’s route again and follow the same collection schedule. On Monday, May 10th, Public Works crews will begin on Monday’s route and do their last collection through the routes. Any leaves placed after Monday May 10th will be the property owner’s responsibility to dispose of at the City of Baraboo Compost Site located at 407 Briar Street

2024 CURBSIDE BRUSH COLLECTION

2024 monthly Brush Collection is scheduled to begin the last full week of April (April 22-26) and continue through October. Similar to leaf collection, Public Works crews will begin on Monday’s route and navigate through the City following the designated refuse collection routes.

All brush must be placed for pickup by 7:00 a.m. the Monday of the scheduled collection week to be guaranteed collection. 2024 Brush Collection weeks are: April 22nd, May 27th, June 24th, July 22nd, August 26th, September 23rd, and October 21st.

Remember, the City will NOT collect brush that was placed by a contractor. Contractors are responsible for the disposal of tree waste that they generate on their own terms, and may not dispose of customer materials at the City of Baraboo Brush Drop-off Site.

Monthly brush pickup is intended for typical residential yard cleanup and is not intended as a lot clearing or tree removal service. The City cannot collect lumber, root balls, stumps, or material in excess of 6” in diameter. Residents placing brush for collection must neatly stack cut ends facing the same direction, keep brush pile free of non-brush materials, and keep a minimum of 5’ away from trees, signs, hydrants, utility poles, vehicles, and buildings.
