Summer Grant Distribution Time



The Outreach Committee will be meeting in July to review all of the new application for grants. Thank you to many of you for spreading awareness about our grants to local charity groups and organizations. Thank you also for advocating for charities that are near and dear to your hearts and important to the health of our community. Lastly, we remain grateful to all the angels at Angels' Treasures for your continued hard work ensuring the revenue stream that largely funds our Outreach budget. It takes a village, all reaching out together.

Tea on the Terrace Time

We are transitioning from Coffee Hours inside Walden Hall to enjoying the beautiful weather with Tea on the Terrace after our Sunday 10:00 AM services. We are looking for volunteers to host and provide the tea/lemonade and some nibbles. There is a paper sign-up on the bulletin board in the sunroom as well as an online sign-up here. Thank you!

Flower arrangements can be donated for so many different reasons whether it is in loving memory of a deceased loved one, in celebration of a joyous event, a wedding, a baptism, a graduation, or in thanksgiving for something important in your life. We are very blessed to have a team of talented flower guild members who always work to create beautiful arrangements holding your intentions in their hearts. We also have a paper sign-up on the bulletin board in the sunroom as well. Please note that dates do need to be shared as we have a large community to honor and celebrate together.

Bishop Search Committee Applications Invited

The Rt. Rev. Alan M. Gates has indicated his intention to retire at the end of 2024 and has called for the election of his successor. The diocesan Standing Committee today issues the following invitation for applications from those interested in being considered for appointment to the Bishop Search Committee. Applications, via an online form linked below, are due by June 25, 2023.  Questions should be directed to [email protected]. Under the oversight of the Standing Committee of the diocese, the Search Committee will be charged with the following responsibilities:

• gathering information from around our diocese as to the qualities we seek in our next bishop

• developing a diocesan profile for potential candidates to consider as they discern whether to place their names in nomination

• screening and interviewing potential nominees through a series of stages

• recommending final nominees for the electing convention to consider

It is anticipated that the work of the Search Committee will begin in August 2023 and continue until a final slate is named in the late spring of 2024.

Calling All Angels!



It is not too late to join in the fun of our 4th of July Float for the Barnstable Village Parade. All are invited to join us this Sunday following the 10:00 AM service to begin decorating our church float which will highlight, Angels' Treasures Thrift Store. Please reach out to Allison if you are interested in participating in our Parade Day fun.

We need folks dressed in white prepared to be angels. I have halos and wings for everyone. We need walkers and float riders too.

The 1891 Society to Host A Legacy Giving Seminar

All are welcome to attend a seminar on Legacy Giving offered by our own Linda Gadkowski., certified financial planner. The first session will go over:

Knowing the “what ifs” when one passes. Learn how to be prepared to handle the hurdles of the first year of being a widow/widower or being alone and the resources available to you. Handouts will be provided.

• July 11 a brown bag lunch in the parish hall
• July 25 the final brown bag lunch in the parish hall.

July 16 – Big Nick’s Ride for the Fallen –

Big Nick’s Ride 2023 will honor all Native American Veterans with special recognition for Veterans from the Wampanoag Tribe, our Native American, Cape Cod neighbors. Join us at St Mary’s as we bless these dedicated and generous riders. Due to the ride causing traffic and sound challenges, we will have only one combined mass on Sunday the 16th at 9:00 AM. Our clergy will be out front offering blessing to riders as they travel by.We would love to have a big turnout of parishioners lined up out front to cheer for the riders.

Artists Needed

This Sunday, July 2nd and next Sunday, July 9th we will have a poster making table set-up in the parish hall to encourage all artistic types to help us make posters for the 4th of July Parade float as well as posters for our use during Big Nick's ride. We would love to have your help!
