June 2021: Prevention is Better Than a Cure!
|
|
Did you know that 7 out of 10 deaths in America is from chronic diseases? Fortunately, most chronic conditions can be avoided or better controlled with preventive care. Rather than waiting to become sick, preventive care aims to keep people healthy or at least to catch conditions at their earliest and most treatable stages. Preventive care includes a healthy lifestyle, exercise, and well-balanced nutrition. Other preventive care measures are in a medical setting and can include a variety of health care services such as a physical examination, screenings, laboratory tests, counseling, and immunizations. The goal with preventive care is to shift the focus of your health care journey from treating sickness to maintaining good well-being for years to come.
