What we have been up to:

In partnership with Iowa Association for the Education of Young children, we are thrilled to announce the release of the 2023 Iowa Child Care Workforce Study. Using statewide surveys, in-depth focus groups and interviews, and a thorough analysis of administrative databases, this report presents key findings and recommendations to support recruitment and retention of Iowa’s child care workforce. We are excited to share these insights with policymakers, stakeholders, and the community at large with hope that the recommendations will serve as a catalyst for impactful solutions in Iowa's child care sector.

Under leadership of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services we are building a new integrated data tool that will help parents and caregivers to find affordable and reliable child care options, and also allow policy-makers to have real-time data on child care supply in Iowa. In the future, parents and caregivers will be able to search for child care providers in their area and view detailed information about each provider's availability, cost, and quality. Learn more about how the state of Iowa is utilizing technology to advance child care through this informative webinar led by our partner Resultant. You can also learn more about this important work with this article, "IOWA LEADS THE WAY: How Modern Technology Can Improve Access to High-Quality Child Care". The article highlights Iowa's trailblazing approach to generate technology that supports the child care system and reduce administrative burdens.
