Hot Tip For Managing Your Calendar
Retirement Connection Event Calendar

Having a hard time managing all of the events and networking opportunities you attend?  Well, there may be an easier way to populate and update your calendar using the resources already posted on Retirement Connection's website - here's how:

  1. Go to the Networking Page
  2. Click on the button for the Events Calendar at the top of that page.
  3. Once the calendar opens, on the bottom right, click the button for "Google Calendar".
  4. This will add this calendar and all supporting info to your calendar page if you use Google Calendar.
  5. You can then also sync Google Calendar with Outlook, smart phones and other applications.

What's so great about this? As meeting locations or topics change- your calendar is automatically updated as we receive the updated details. We also provide a web link to more information for your calendar. The networking calendar remains independent from your personal entries for quick viewing.
(you will need a FREE google email account to do this)

Hospital Case Manager Web Pages & Comparison Grid Updates

Every 6 months, Meghan, our Administrative Assistant, calls every Housing, Home Health and In-Home Care company to gain specific information we print in the guides on the comparison grids.

For the past several months, we have been working with several local hospital systems to create "back pages" on our Retirement Connection website. These pages show the comparison grids with expanded details, quick links to the most common pages, and specific information added by each hospital. Expanded details include: insurances accepted, admission person contact details, pharmacy preference and special considerations (bariatric, vent and trach care, etc).

To make this process work efficiently for everyone- Meghan will be contacting each housing and homecare location, as usual.

In addition she will asking for an email address for both marketing and for admissions. Then Meghan will email the link for the expanded questions to be completed by the provider. (We understand that in some instances admissions and marketing may be the same person.Email Meghan today if you should be the contact for your organization.

We will share more details about this at the SSN-Salem meeting on May 22nd and a sponsor breakfast in Portland on May 23rd.

Nuggets of Knowledge

Integrity & Honesty

"Integrity is telling myself the truth. And honesty is telling the truth to other people."

- Spencer Johnson

Sometimes we all try to "justify" what we have done, said, or even thought. Being honest with yourself can be more difficult  than being honest with others, because we know when we are not looking at the whole picture.
- Amy
