Coastal Conversations
Terry Stevenson

Next time you’re rockin’ along to a great tune on the radio, think of Terry Stevenson.
The 33-year-old sales manager of Seehafer Broadcasting, headquartered in Manitowoc, has spent 19 of those years riding the airwaves.

Radio is the bedrock of his family’s history – his grandfather bought a station in the 1930s, broadcasting classics like Jack Benny, Red Skelton and Abbott and Costello. Read more  here.

This is a monthly series showcasing members of the Coastal Young Professionals Network.

2018 Coastal Cares Nonprofit Program
Meet Sheboygan Senior Community

What SSC does:

Sheboygan Senior Community is a faith-based, charitable nonprofit Short-Term Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living Facility. SSC was founded by First Methodist Church (now known as St. Luke United Methodist Church) in 1962. In October 2015, we moved to our new location off County Road Y in the Town of Sheboygan. Within the last year, we were awarded the Chamber of Commerce’s Services Category of the Year – Nonprofit at the Champions Gala and we were a finalist in the Best of Sheboygan for both the Assisted Living and Nursing Facility categories. We’re proud to provide unparalleled care to all seniors despite wealth or income.
The purpose of  Coastal Cares  is for Coastal YPN to partner with a nonprofit organization in co-creating a unique event --- an event that is tailored to the missions of each organization and provides opportunities for young professionals to serve as community stewards.

Throughout year, we have been working integrally with the following Sheboygan County-area nonprofit organizations in hopes that by connecting to a mission that resonates, we can join with other great people, create even more ways to get involved, and truly make a difference in our community:

It all starts with a LITTLE… and it makes a BIG difference.
It’s estimated over 5000 kids in Sheboygan County live in homes falling just above the federal poverty level. With parents struggling to provide basics like housing, food, and health care, there often isn’t time left to provide kids guidance to build healthy relationships, attend school regularly and think about the future. That’s where you come in! Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sheboygan County invites you to do something BIG today and become a volunteer mentor. Visit https://www.bbbssc.org/our-programs/ to get started today!
