Warnings Remain in Effect

Water Shortage Declaration Remains in Effect

Phase III Extreme Water Shortage for portions of northeast and central Florida remains in effect.

In May 2026, the St Johns River Water Management District issued an Extreme Phase III Severe Water Shortage for portions of northeast and central Florida due to continued limited rainfall and declining water levels. Recent rains have helped, but much of the SJRWMD still needs much rainfall over the next few months to eliminate drought conditions.

The declaration places more restrictions on water use. Click below for more information on watering restrictions.

JEPB Environmental Awards

The JEPB established an awards program in 1975 to honor outstanding environmental accomplishments, in several categories, above the actions required by law. The awards program also recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a long-term commitment to the protection and preservation of the environment with two special awards – the Charles E. Bennett Champion of the Environment Award and the Christi P. Veleta Environmental Award.

The nomination period for the 2026 JEPB Environmental Achievement Awards has closed.

Winners will be announced in October and will be presented at the Environmental Awards Luncheon to be held November 19, 2026.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to recognize worthy community entities!
