Hear what parents are saying about MPEN

"This is the first time in four years, since my son got diagnosed, that I have been able to feel as though I'm not alone, that I am validated and that others understand me and the situation I'm in. Coming here helped me to find out new ways to help my child."

"I really enjoy hearing success stories from other parents who are facing the same challenges I am as a parent."

This month's session will feature co-presentations from parents and the professionals they worked with on:

        * Employment

* Housing

    * Education

Participants will meet, learn and talk with real parents of children on the spectrum that have had successes:

  • Building positive relationships with the professionals
  • Finding unique ways to utilize members of the team
  • Creatively engaging family and friends as part of the team

    Valuable Funding Workshop
    View Online

    On October 16, Milestones Consortium for Autism Professionals (MCAP) packed a room at Daily Behavioral Health/Building Behaviors Autism Center to hear about
    Funding and Insurance for Therapy, Education and Medical Care.  The crowd was not disappointed.

    Jill Sadowsky, MSW, LISW-S, Director of Admissions, Outreach, and Early Childhood Services at Bellefaire JCB shared about getting the most out of community resources. Franklin Hickman, JD, President of Hickman & Lowder distilled his wisdom on accessing public benefits. Howard Bonem, PhD, Psychologist, Partners for Behavioral Health and Wellness provided tips on insurance coverage.

    "This is exactly the information I needed," said Michelle Baskin of ABA Outreach Services. "With so much changing in the world of medical insurance, autism providers need to get reliable information from trusted sources, Milestones was able to convene experts who had a wealth of knowledge to share."

    If you want this vital funding and insurance information, but were not able to attend the workshop, it is not too late. With the help of a partnership with BoxCast.com, you can register to watch the workshop and view the handouts online.
