Annual Leadership Banquet Planning Committee
Plans and executes MCCT's annual flagship event that is held in the fall. The banquet highlights the work of organizations and individuals who are making a difference in the community. The banquet theme varies each year.

Community Service Committee
Responsible for overseeing the smooth running of MCCT's community service initiatives such as the monthly shelter serve program, Halal Food Pantry in conjunction with Hands on Hartford, Walk Against Hunger Team for Foodshare, Habitat for Humanity team builds, National Day of Service winter packs and towel drives for area shelters, etc.

Community Relations Committee
Plans events that serve the local Muslim community such as the Annual Eid Carnival at Lake Compounce, panel discussions, and talks on topics of interest at various masajid.

Fundraising Committee
Responsible for helping to plan MCCT's annual fundraiser dinner and fostering ongoing positive relations with donors in the local community.

Speakers' Bureau Committee
Oversees the work of the MCCT Speaker's Bureau which provides free workshops and diversity training on Islam and Muslims to churches, libraries, schools, clubs, etc. throughout Connecticut.

Media Relations Committee
Responsible for issuing MCCT statements and press releases in response to current events and for fostering ongoing communication with local media outlets.

Marketing Committee
Helps with marketing MCCT events through the monthly newsletter updates and on MCCT social media platforms.

Taste of Ramadan Planning Committee
Plans and executes the MCCT Annual Taste of Ramadan. This is an interfaith program and iftar dinner, designed to educate the public about the meaning, significance, and practice of fasting for Muslims in the month of Ramadan.
OUTSIDE EVENTS OF INTEREST

Farmington Valley American Muslim Center Presents "Spotlight: A Young Muslim Professionals Networking Event" on Saturday, July 10th 6:30-8:00 pm. Speaker will be Ayah Galal, news reporter for Channel 3 Eyewitness News. Program is for young Muslims ages 21 and above.

Hartford Seminary Press Release: Dr. Mona Siddiqui to Join Hartford Seminary Faculty as Distinguished Professor of Islamic and Interreligious Studies.

Dr. Mona Siddiqui, an internationally known scholar and sought-after speaker on religion, ethics, and public life, will join Hartford Seminary in the fall as Distinguished Professor of Islamic and Interreligious Studies.

A prolific and celebrated author, Professor Siddiqui’s more recent publications include Human Struggle: Christian and Muslim Perspectives, 50 Ideas in Islam, Hospitality in Islam: Welcoming in God’s Name, Christians, Muslims and Jesus, My Way: A Muslim Woman’s Journey, and The Good Muslim: Reflections on Classical Islamic Law and Theology. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and holds six honorary doctorates.
