The Holiday season is upon us, but that doesn't mean the work at GPBOR slows down. Earlier this month the Board of Directors met for an important strategic planning session. We discussed the organization's vision for the future and identified goals and objectives for the coming years. We look forward to sharing more details with you next month.

Work continues on our new office building in Cranston with the next phase being an internal build out. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we seek to formally open our doors the first half of 2023.

Do you often find yourself getting questions from consumers about why they should hire a REALTOR® to buy or sell a home? Together with NAR we've put together a list of questions and answers to help you promote your value as a REALTOR®.

Example:

Why should a home buyer use a real estate agent?

A real estate agent who is a REALTOR® is an expert in helping a home buyer with one of the largest and most complex purchases most people will make in their lifetime. Real estate agents who are REALTORS® help people navigate legal (e.g., attorney reviews; required state and federal forms; closing documents), financial (e.g., lenders; mortgage rates and terms; appraisals and inspections) and community (e.g., property taxes; public property information; price trends; neighborhoods) aspects of the purchase. This expertise is even more critical for first-time, low-income and racially under-represented home buyers.

Value of a REALTOR® Q&A (PDF)

The Board will once again be offering the Circle of Sales applications for 2022, which is overseen by a dedicated group of GPBOR volunteers. Without them, this program would not be possible.

The Google applications will be available late December, with a filing deadline of 2/17/23.

2023 Membership Dues Reminder

Your membership expires 12/31/22. After that date, a late fee is assessed and your membership services are terminated on 1/1/23. Please plan accordingly as 12/31/22 is a Saturday and GPBOR offices will be closed. Login to the Member Portal to pay your dues. Need a visual? Check out our video tutorial.

Who will you nominate?

NAR Tree Planting Initiative

NAR is partnering with the National Forest Foundation (NFF) on a large-scale tree planting initiative and pledging to plant one tree on behalf of every NAR member: totaling 1.575 million trees.

Trees will be planted using a need-based approach to repopulate areas affected by events such as wildfires, drought, and deforestation. More than an initiative, it's a commitment to restoring U.S. public lands that provide so much to all of us. Learn more.

First DEI Scholarship Awarded

The GPBOR Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee recently awarded Princesa Nieves with the Board’s first DEI Scholarship. Princesa begins her pre-licensing classes in November.
