Board Member Tim Vertz Wins Ozaukee Economic Development Small Business of the Year Award for Vertz Marketing!

On September 29th, MTCF board member Tim Vertz accepted the Ozaukee County Small Business of the Year award for his business, Vertz Marketing!

MT Trails Foundation Update Thanks to everyone who visited us at the Taste of Mequon! MT Trails Foundation, in conjunction with MTCF, visited with residents in the community to spread the word about their vision for connecting off-the-road bike/pedestrian paths during the Taste of Mequon on September 10th. Many excited residents completed surveys to help guide our next projects and offered to help on committees in the future. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our tent!

BIKE/PEDESTRIAN PATH FUN FACTS:

Studies around the nation have shown that off-the-road bike/pedestrian trails generally increased property values, had no effect on crime, and increased the quality of life for community residents.  Realtors often use a home’s proximity to a bike trail as a selling point.  The Ozaukee Interurban Trail in Thiensville between Buntruck and Division Street has roughly 540 daily visitors during the week and 700 on the weekends.
