Dear Parents,
We do not mind our wonderful parents and neighbors using our playground areas but recently we have been having some problems. We have begun locking the basketball courts at night due to inappropriate items being left behind and our children finding them when they go out to play for recess. Now that the courts are being locked we are still having issues with them being broken into, vandalized and destruction of the basketballs. If you could please spread the word in your neighborhoods that the basketball courts are now locked. We hope with releasing this information the issue will be resolved and hopefully one day in the future we can reopen our basketball courts to our wonderful neighbors.
Thank You,
Wesley Chapel Elementary School

The 4th Annual Spring Fling Thing and Bid$ for our Kids Silent Auction will be here before you know it! This year's goal is to raise over $25,000 in the Bid$ for Our Kids Silent Auction. Monies raised from this event help to support educational essentials such as tutoring, teaching assistants, replacement and new technology, equipment for enrichment programs such as PE, Music, Art and so much more. Helping to provide an exceptional education experience for each child at Wesley Chapel Elementary school is crucial, and we need your help!
We are looking for the following items:
- Home-based business items
- Experiences (hayride, bonfire, day on the farm, ride in a fire truck, etc)
- Services (manicures, haircuts, dental, pet treatments, landscaping, cleaning, lessons, etc)
- Vacation rentals, airline miles, tickets out of a season ticket package
- Gift certificates, new and unopened items
The Bid$ for Our Kids Auction Committee has mailed over 400 letters requesting donations from local and national businesses this month, donations are starting to roll in- but we still need help! Your generous contributions help make Spring Fling Thing and the Bid$ for our Kids Silent Auction a success. Thank you!
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer with the auction this year please contact: Amy Kissel
amykissel@gmail.com or phone at 704-698-2800.

Let's Welcome
Mrs. Mindy Reed
Globalization Teacher
My name is Mindy Reed and I have been involved at Wesley Chapel for many years. I have served as a room mom for several years and have chaired the WASEP program for three years. In addition to serving on the PTO I have had the awesome opportunity to be the Globalization teacher for third and fourth grade. I have also been fortunate enough to spend time in Miss Cochrane's second grade class, Miss Peck's third grade class and worked in several other third and fourth grade classes. Sometimes I feel like I need roller skates to get where I need to be, but this makes my job fun and exciting!
I was born in Arkansas and lived there until I was in eighth grade. I still have some family in Arkansas and faithfully root for my Hogs! I then moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida, where I enjoyed the sandy white beaches, crystal blue water and graduated from high school. I decided to try something new, so headed to the great state of North Carolina where I attended Wingate University. I graduated from Wingate in 1995 after receiving my Elementary Education degree. That year I was also awarded the Carolyn Caldwell Gaddy Teacher Education award which is presented to one student teacher from the University. I then began teaching at Indian Trail Elementary where I was Teacher of the Year for my school in 2000-2001. In 2000 I married the love of my life, Rusty Reed. In 2001-2002, I won Teacher of the Year for Union County.
I have two daughters at Wesley Chapel. Ruthie is in second grade and Peyton is in fifth grade. We have an adorable dog, Gnocchi. Our family's number one hobby is anything Disney! We love going to Disney, talking about Disney and reading about Disney. I love being a nice dance mom to my two girls, traveling, snow skiing and reading.
I enjoy being back in the classroom, as teaching is my passion. The students, teachers, faculty and administration at Wesley Chapel are so special and I can't think of a better place to be! |
