MANY KUDOS TO THE UNITED WOMENT IN FAITH!!! We were all blessed to have a “living” encounter with a few of the WOMEN OF THE BIBLE. The women were adorned in the clothing befitting of their times. Their stories were told through Scripture reading and through personal testimonies.

    We met Dorcas (Debbie Allen) and learned of her kindness and of the good deeds she did in her community. We marveled as she gave her testimony of becoming ill and being raised to life again, by the Apostle Peter. This miracle became known throughout Joppa, resulting in many people becoming believers in Jesus Christ.

    We were awed by the testimony of Queen Esther (Colleen Sirmans), as she spoke of God’s elevating her from an orphan child, reared by her Uncle Mordecai, to the Queen who intervened on behalf of the Jewish people. As Queen Esther tells her story, she did so humbly. The queen was moved to tears; and so were we. She understood the danger she faced to go before the king, without his calling for her. Yet, she KNEW God was calling her to act, “for such a time as this.” Her courageous actions saved the lives of the Jewish people.

    We were impressed with the selfless leadership of Priscilla (Becky Smith). She and her husband, Aquila allowed the Apostle Paul to stay in their home. They were all tentmakers. While Paul was with them in Corinth, he spoke in the synagogue, amid outrage and opposition. Paul later commends Priscilla and Aquila for risking their lives on his behalf.

    Lydia (Zel Heaney) was a rare woman indeed. She was a business owner and seller of expensive (purple) cloth. She was faithful in her generosity and supported the ministries that helped to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.



    Finally, the Apostle Paul commended Phoebe (Marlene Fey) to the Roman church members. Her service to the church at Cenchrea was noteworthy. He urged the Roman Christians to receive her as, “one of the saints,” and to do for her, whatever she requested. She had lovingly provided for the Apostles and for Paul throughout his travels.

    As we can see, God used women, both, in Old Testament times and in New Testament times. GOD IS STILL USING WOMEN TODAY!! THANK YOU, UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH, FOR ALLOWING GOD TO USE YOU!!! 

While we are concerned about the unhoused population in our city, and are working with the Central Texas Homeless Coalition to aid in their efforts in finding reasonable solutions to help this growing population, we have some men who are frequenting our premises (particularly at night). They are doing damage to the property. Therefore, it is necessary for EVERYONE to be watchful and notice anything or anyone who may seem suspicious. These men (so far those seen on our premises have all been males) are generally seen in the back of the church, on the porch near the dumpster. A couple of them have been verbally aggressive. If spotted, do not engage in conversation. Please call KPD (254) 501-8830 and remain on the premises until they come. More information regarding the proper protocol, will be made known to ALL leaders, whose groups meet regularly at the church. These leaders will be given the contact numbers of the members who are on the “first call” list at the Killeen Police Department.

The 2026 District Charge Conference will be held on Sunday, November 8th, at 3:00 pm, at Hutto UMC, located at 350 Ed Schmidt Blvd. in Hutto, TX. All committee leaders are encouraged to be in attendance. If you are requested to fill out charge conference paperwork.

On September 13th, we will give Henry Lucksinger his "Flowers While You Live" sentiments.

On September 13th, we will be honoring our home-centered member, Lynn Thomas.
