Pastor's Post

    GOD REALLY IS BIG ENOUGH!!

Rev. Steve Ramsdell, is absolutely, definitively, unquestionably, 100% correct! GOD IS BIG ENOUGH!!

On Nov. 22, 2025, Rev. Steve Ramsdell led our church in a workshop entitled, God is Big Enough. He weaved Scripture in with personal stories that were funny, poignant, and powerful. Each Biblical and personal story led to the same TRUTH. God is big enough! Really! Steve even shared a short autobiography with us, allowing us to get a glimpse into his life and ministry journey.

As we make our way toward the Lenten season—let us prepare for the journey. We come away from Advent KNOWING God came to us; because we got lost and could not find our way to God. THIS IS HUGE!

God was willing to do the unthinkable, to redeem us. God was willing to give the life of His Beloved Son, Jesus, for us and for our salvation. THIS IS GIGANTIC!

God is not just big enough, God’s love for us is, absolutely, definitively, unquestionably, 100% deep (going down to the grave itself) and wide (beyond his arms, stretched out on Calvary’s Cross), and high (reaching to the highest heavens). THIS IS ENORMOUSLY, AND LITERALLY INCONCEIVEABLE!

So, let us prepare our hearts for this journey. It will not be easy. We may face temptations along the way, as Jesus did. We may be tempted like the Israelites to go back to Egypt.

We must prepare our eyes for the harsh realities of Roman executions. We must prepare our ears, as we stand with Scriptural characters and hear, “Hosanna!” one day, and “Crucify Him!” days later.

We must prepare our minds. Some things will be unimaginable. Those who walk, talk, eat, and sleep in the company of Jesus, will fall asleep, when he urges them to stay awake and keep watch. They will scatter and go into hiding, when he needs them most. One will deny him three times. How could they? How could we?

Yes, soon, we will travel a road that will be most puzzling. As we make our way towards Redemption Road with Jesus, we will weep and we will rejoice. We will come face to face with our deepest sorrows and our greatest joys. We will experience with him, betrayal, torment, death, burial, and resurrection. Ahh, RESURRECTION...LIFE! NEW LIFE! THIS IS EPIC!!!

YES, GOD IS BIG ENOUGH...AND THEN SOME!
