 Craft Night - Drop In

This month we are pleased to offer programming with childcare available! We have a dedicated and certified child care staff member to engage your children in age appropriate cultural craft activities in a separate space in our building to give parents time to work on their own crafts. Children are also welcome in the main boardroom under direct parent supervision.
For April, there will be no expert craft instruction, but you are welcome to bring whatever you're working on at home, whether it be painting, weaving, sewing, beading etc. and join our circle of crafty Michif Makers.
We will be in our main office boardroom with snacks and good company from 5:00-7:30 PM.
If you are bringing children/youth, please register using the button below and we will contact you with further details. If you are an adult coming to craft with us, just drop in anytime.
NOTE: Main doors will be locked, call for entry: 403-328-7828 OR 587-821-7482

Sunnyside School
A huge thank you to Sunnyside School and The Consortium for welcoming us to their Indigenous Day to share about Metis culture! The kids were so polite and inquisitive, we always love visiting schools and interacting with the children. On this day the kids learned about Metis history, food, music, dot art, storytelling and more!

We genuinely love catching up with our seniors! This little crew of ours is always growing, always welcoming, and always up for good company. This month we played crib and ate green snacks in light of St. Patrick's Day. Some of our group also tried their hand at Dot Art this month.
Sa si boon (good job)!!
If you’ve been thinking about coming out, take this as your gentle nudge. We’d be so happy to have you at the next one! We meet monthly on the 2nd Friday.

Dot Art with Southern Alberta Ethnic Association
| | It is a pleasure to share our culture with the community. We appreciate organizations who reach out and collaborate with us on these cultural initiatives. This was a lovely evening of painting, bannock, tea and connection. Thank you for coming out and sharing your artistic talents with us! | | | | Our dedicated group of staff, Elders, Council, and special guest community members came together to create our unique capotes in March. We are blessed to have such a talented group. We hope to host another capote workshop for our community members in the near future! Let us know if you are interested in learning to make a capote or if you want to help us host this intensive program. | | This month our youth learned about the contemporary northern art form of using fish scales as a medium. Fish Scale Art centres around the Indigenous principle of "tip to tail" harvesting. We do not waste what we harvest and we use all the gifts that an animal has provided. Our group created some beautiful designs! Sa si boon! | | Community Events and Resources | | |
