EHR Incentive Program in 2015 and Beyond

New requirements of the EHR Incentive Program expand meaningful use of certified EHR technology to promote health information exchange and improve patient outcomes. The rule also includes changes to the structure of the EHR Incentive Program to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and flexibility.

Major provisions in the EHR Incentive Program for 2015-2017 include:

  • A revised single set of objectives
  • A reduction in the overall number of objectives
  • Alternate exclusions and specifications for providers previously scheduled to be on Stage 1 in 2015
  • A shift to a 90-day reporting period for all providers
  • Revisions to attestation and payment adjustment deadlines
  • Clinical Quality Measures remain as previously finalized

Quatris is ready for the challenge and has begun preparations to help you be compliant and successful. Our Quality Reporting App on Podio contains a wealth of information from resources including CMS and GE in one convenient place. We have virtually all Quality Reporting programs covered. Looking Towards Stage 3

  • Stage 3 requirements are optional in 2017, and providers choosing to start stage 3 in 2017 will have a 90-day reporting period.
  • All providers will be required to comply with Stage 3 beginning in 2018 using 2015 certified EHR technology.
  • Objectives and measures for Stage 3 include increased thresholds, advanced use of health information exchange functionality, and an overall focus on continuous quality improvement.

Question: I have QVERA set up for my Meaningful Use reporting or another interface. Should I be getting daily emails from QVERA?

Answer: Yes. I recommend QVERA be configured to send you a status email daily. That way, if you don't get the email, you know there may be a problem with the interface.

Question: Can Centricity Practice Management reports be exported in an Excel format?

Answer: Yes. Centricity reports can be exported from the Reports module into Microsoft Excel, which will allow you to work with the information to meet your needs. Here's how:

Step-by-Step:

  1. Run the report from Centricity's Report Component.
  2. Select Preview. From the Reports Preview window, click the Export Report icon in the top left corner. The Export dialog box opens.
  3. Click the Format drop-down arrow and select Microsoft Excel 97-2000. Click the Destination drop-down arrow and select Disk File. You will receive a pop-up message regarding Email, which is normal, just click OK. Excel Format Options will default to Custom and you can click OK. You will then need to select the shared folder or drive, name the file then Save.
  4. Go to the shared folder or drive on your desktop and open the report in Excel.
