P2P is Adopting the Market Basket Measure

Beginning in January 2025, P2P will begin using the Market Basket Measure (MBM) as the income-testing measure for the 90% Recreation Discount Program and Affordable Pass Program. Eligibility for a subsidy program will be based on applicants with household incomes below MBM income thresholds.

The MBM is Canada’s official measure of poverty, and it is based on the cost of a basket of goods and services, including: food, clothing, shelter, transportation, and other necessities. The costs of these five components are added up to produce a MBM threshold. Households with incomes below the threshold could be eligible for a P2P subsidy.

P2P Lunch & Learns: Data Privacy Week & Market Basket Measure

Pathway to Potential will be hosting a series of lunch and learn sessions on the Market Basket Measure, it's impact on P2P subsidy programs, and the importance of data privacy. Who should attend? The lunch and learn sessions are intended to support staff, service providers, and community partners interested in understanding the Recreation Assistance Program and Affordable Pass Program.

Session 1 - Online: Tuesday, January 28th from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free Activities & Events Funded by P2P:

The SSNAPP Neighbourhood Safety Plans are now available! These plans focus on supporting safety and well-being in the Downtown (N9A), South Central (N8X), Walkerville and East Windsor (N8Y), and South Walkerville (N8W) areas in Windsor.

They include a wide range of resources to guide residents, businesses, and service providers in responding to a variety of situations, including mental health and substance use crises.

The plans are available online at www.ssnapp.ca and in multiple languages, including Arabic, Spanish and French.
