Summer Recreation Program

The Windsor Essex CHC provides a free Summer Recreation Program in seven local housing communities.

The program provides children between 4 and 17 years of age with an opportunity to participate in various positive recreational and social inclusion activities during the summer months.

Program Testimonials:

I would like to express my gratitude for the Community Housing Corporation Summer Rec Program. Growing up in subsidized housing, I was fortunate enough to attend the program, and it had a huge impact on my life and the person I am today.

l am now proud to say that I have the opportunity to work with and impact the lives of children like me. I am grateful for the program's commitment to helping the youth in our community and for the positive influence it has had on so many lives.

Thank you for all that you do to support the program and the children in our community!

-- Amarni, Site Coordinator & former camper

Throughout the many years of living in subsidized housing and being a part of the WECHC community, it’s allowed me to become the person I am today. Growing up in this area and attending our Summer Rec program for over 5 years before working here, it helped me create memories and meet new people every summer. We were given opportunities and experiences that we would not have been able to be a part of if not for the program. From my first summer as a camper, I always knew I wanted to be a part of the team and really make a difference in these communities. After working here for over 6 years now, my motivation and goals of making this program a success every year has not waived and will hope to continue to do so every summer.
