June 2023

June is Recreation & Parks Month

June is Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) is a movement that promotes the benefits of recreation and parks for physical, social, and environmental health. Communities across Ontario have embraced JRPM as a way to promote local programs and events, parks and facilities that are available for all citizens to enjoy.

LaSalle Sneakers and Speakers Session

Thursday, June 15th

11:00 am-1:00 pm

Geared towards those 55+ though everyone is welcome. Enjoy a 45 minute presentation by the LaSalle Horticultural Society entitled, ‘The Garden Above.’ Gardening experts will share their knowledge and experience on how to create a garden meant for smaller spaces and balconies.

Following some light refreshments, we will roll up our sleeves and dig into the dirt! Each participant will have the opportunity to do a little gardening and leave with a potted plant of their own to bring home.

Our Sneakers & Speakers sessions are free to attend and are generously funded by Pathway to Potential (P2P). This event will be held at the Riverdance Community Centre located at 1 Laurier Drive in LaSalle.
