News at Central
Judy Williams came, immediately got involved at Central, saw a need and because of her 'active faith' 14 folks came together in January and began a 4 month training to participate in bringing STEPHEN MINISTRY to our congregation. Stephen Ministers provide ongoing, skilled, faithful, trustworthy, compassionate one-to-one care to people going through a crisis or difficult time. This 40 year old ministry is at work in over 12,000 congregations worldwide. Central is truly blessed to become one more congregation offering this amazing level of support and love to members.

If you'd like to know more, go to the Stephen Ministry website - or call Judy.  Her genuine enthusiasm for this ministry is infectious!

Transitions In Our Church Family
Norma Thornbrough is loving retirement in her Houston apartment complex. One of her favorite things is her ability to "take the elevator to Church!". She's celebrating her 90th birthday on January 30 in unique Norm fashion. She's giving herself a party where she will be the entertainment. She is going to have a pianist friend accompany her as she sings several show tunes!  If you'd like to send Norma a card on this special birthday her address is:
7400 Clarewood Drive #704
Houston, Texas  77036

Bill Squire, a longtime vital member of Central is homebound now in his 96th year. He loves to get mail; think how we could add a bit of joy to his day by sending a card his way!
His address is:
1519 Cornell Dr NE
Albuquerque, NM 87106

Virginia St. John, aged 92, passed away earlier this month. Virginia and her husband, Thomas, will be remembered by longtime Central members as examples of those folks who participate in the life of Central in many ways - leaving us a richer place for their presence among us. Services have been held at church.
Carol Cox Smith
Passed away earlier this week. Many will miss Carol's bright smile including her sister and brother-in-law, Dodie and Art Hawkins, eight nieces and nephews, 17 great neices and nephews and her beloved dog Toby.

Services will be held on February 4th at 3:00pm in the Sanctuary followed by the reception in the Life Center.
