Making Moments Magic

When I heard that the theme of our last luncheon of the year would be “A Year of Magic Moments,” it immediately resonated with me. I quickly recalled so many moments that were magical to my family and me. I have been blessed to give birth to my beautiful baby girl, Halo, and one of my best friends beat breast cancer and is now expecting. I’ve had the opportunity to serve as Chair of this wonderful organization and lastly, to our surprise, we were the grand prize winners of a nationwide sweepstakes and won a car. Yes, a car! It’s easy to recall these grand and profound moments, but when I stop to think about what makes a moment magical it is how that moment actually impacts the individual. The definition of a magical moment is a special event that you experience in your life. This could be simple or heroic, but what ultimately matters is that special feeling you experience. Read more

Upcoming Events

Women's Network events are a great way to challenge your comfort zone, meet new people, and get the most out of your WN membership. Make a point to attend one of our upcoming events this month! Visit our website for all events.
Women in Leadership Conference
JULY 12, 2019 | 8:30AM-3:30PM | Columbia, MO
Women's Network is proud to be a supporting sponsor of the Missouri State Chamber's Women in Leadership Conference. The conference will welcome women leaders across the state to educate attendees on everything from negotiating salary to discussing pay equity, and will feature a panel of women leaders exploring the breaking barriers as women. Don't miss this opportunity!
July Professional Development Luncheon
July 18 | 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Peachtree Catering
Negotiation
Join us to brush up on the do’s, don’ts, scary and confusing parts of negotiating at the July Luncheon! After all, negotiating is difficult; if it were easy, everyone would not only do it but would do it well. According to Forbes Coaches Council, in 2017 women negotiated less than their male counterparts, with 68% of women accepting the salary they were offered with little to no negotiation. In this luncheon, long-time HR professional and current business professor, Dr. Tina Olsen gives us key insights and tips on negotiating. She will walk attendees through how to start the conversation, expand the idea of negotiation past money, and will leave attendees feeling more comfortable next time they’re faced with a negotiation situation.

The Women's Network Monthly Program committee is committed to continuing to provide valuable and high-level professional development experiences for our attendees. In order to continue to meet the expectation and level of experience that our attendees crave and deserve, Women's Network has moved forward with a small price increase (our first one in over five years).

$20 for WN members
$25 for non-members
