After School Program:

May 2026

We cannot believe we are in month nine of our After-School Program, with over 450 registered members so far!

There will be no After-School program on Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th.

We will be open on Friday, May 22nd for registered After-School members only, from 10:30am 3:00pm for Open Gym only.

The Center will be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.

Attention parents and guardians! The last day of the after-school program will be May 29th!

MYC Construction: The Center will be getting work done on the building, so you will see construction materials and workers inside and outside of the building. We advise you to park across the street and/or the road on the allowed side. There will be an area fenced off in the parking lot across the street as well for construction materials, but one half will be left for MYC/Town parking!

The construction that will take place in June will affect the main entrance and the entire ground surrounding the building. For obvious safety precautions, we will not be open for the month of June.

The Youth Center’s after school program is open for Milford youth ages 8-18, free of charge, from 2:15-6:00 pm, Monday through Friday (see monthly calendar for any changes).

Only students who are newly registered by 1pm each day will be allowed to attend (10am on vacation weeks and for half days).

Any forms received after 1pm (or 10am on vacation weeks), will be allowed to attend the following program day, if completed correctly. This is to ensure we have adequate time to process registrations. For more information about the program, click here.

The Youth Center also offers a free snack and dinner program, due to the collaboration of CACFP, Hockomock Area YMCA, and the Milford School Food & Nutrition Services department.

Members will also be able to use our washer and dryer, free of charge, during our hours of operation. For more general information on signing up, click here.

Please use the link here for any donations to help support the FREE, fun and educational After-School program provided to the youth of Milford!

The Center is currently responsible for raising funds to continue programming and this is why monetary donations are so important!

Currently, the Town of Milford supports the salary of the three full-time staff along with utility and

maintenance expenses. Therefore, by donating, you are contributing to helping us purchase supplies and sustain additional staffing and physical fitness/educational programming held at the Center!

Teachers Driving Academy

The Milford Youth Center is pleased to partner with Teachers Driving Academy (TDA) to offer students a great program, at a reasonable price, with added convenience of taking classes right at Milford High School. For more information, click here.

Thank you TDA!

Monthly Gratification Post:

Thank you, Judy Tusino, Pam Hunter and Bill Farrell!

Each month, we thank an individual, business and/or organization who supports our efforts. This month we would like to recognize volunteers Judy Tusino, Pam Hunter and Bill Farrell!

Judy, Pam and Bill are three of our volunteers that we see weekly. That is because they each have chosen days of the week that work best for their schedule, to come in and pack the dinners for the children for the After-School Program.

To some, that may sound like a simple task. While it does not require a spreadsheet, it does require strategy and commitment. If it weren’t for Judy, Pam and Bill, this task would fall on our full-time staff, who already have limited time for administrative work before shifting to the After-School Program. To us at the Center, they provide reliability, commitment and care. To the children, it is consistency, nourishment, and it reminds them that someone else is helping to take care of them. For parents and guardians, it is peace of mind.

To put their volunteer time into perspective, they have saved the Center approximately $4,522.70 in time since September 2025 through April 2026, putting 40+ dinners together daily for the registered after-school members.

The time Judy, Pam and Bill commit every week allows MYC full-time staff to plan. It allows us to rely on them, as they willingly took on this volunteer role and have remained committed throughout the entire school year, as well as for several months the previous year. We all greet each other, carry on with silly banter and bombard them with photos! Their choice to continue to show up proves nothing but character and dedication to their responsibility to their chosen volunteer dedication spot, the Milford Youth Center. For that, we feel lucky and forever grateful. Thank you all!
