Meet the 2026 NJAPSE Board

The New Jersey APSE Board of Directors is a group of dedicated professionals and advocates who are committed to advancing competitive, integrated employment for people with disabilities across New Jersey. The Board helps guide the vision and direction of NJAPSE, ensuring our work aligns with best practices in supported employment and reflects the needs of our members and the communities we serve. The Board is made up of a Steering Committee - President, Vice President(s), Immediate Past President, Treasurer, and Secretary - along with additional Board Members who bring diverse experience and perspectives to the organization. This year, we are excited to welcome three new Board Members, and we look forward to the energy, ideas, and leadership they bring to NJAPSE.

Board Members play an active role in supporting NJAPSE’s mission by maintaining APSE membership, following the APSE Code of Ethics, and committing to a three-year term. Members attend Board meetings and the annual Board retreat, participate on at least one committee or workgroup, and remain engaged in NJAPSE events such as the annual conference and community-based activities. All Board Members are connected to supported employment - whether directly, as stakeholders, or through their professional roles. If you are interested in learning more about volunteering on a committee or becoming a future NJAPSE Board Member, we encourage you to reach out to any current Board Member or contact us at newjerseyapse@gmail.com.

Training Opportunities

Supported Employment Leadership Institute

March 3rd - 4th, 2026 | 9:30am-4:00pm

Employees often become supervisors because the success and leadership potential they displayed in a previous role resulted in a promotion. However, being an effective supervisor does not come automatically with the new job title. Rather, one must intentionally develop a set of skills in areas such as leadership, vision, recruitment, and organization. Our Supported Employment Leadership Institute is a 2-day, in-person, interactive course designed specifically for supported employment managers and supervisors. During this course, participants will dive into solution-focused, evidence-based strategies to address challenges unique to supported employment managers.

Topics will include: The hallmarks of effective supervisors, exploring the challenges of hiring and maintaining qualified job coaches, strategies for supervising remote workers, the importance of collecting program data and how to meaningfully utilize it to improve services and documentation challenges unique to supported employment supports.
