Veterans Collection

This new collection is located in the Periodicals Room and includes resources for Veterans benefits, employment services, higher education, technical careers, mental health, substance abuse, PTSD, and information for military spouses and dependents.

All materials are available to be checked out with an OCLN library card.

Funding for the Veterans Collection is provided by the Libraries and Veterans National Forum Grant, Texas A&M University, and a Library Services and Technology Act grant.

Why are my results in this order? Learn how to refine your search to find what you’re looking for more quickly and accurately by using both basic and advanced features.

It's Time to Move That Wall!!

This is the third and final workshop, and the word we will explore is 'obstacles'. Obstacles block our paths at various times throughout our lives, sometimes preventing us from reaching our desired goals. An obstacle could be the belief that the way things have always been is the way they shall remain. Is there a better road to take? This workshop allows us to explore the word “obstacles” as we share our stories and talk about removing walls, brick by brick. We will discuss how habits and behaviors we have had all our lives may not be serving us well now, and how the slightest change could make the difference in reaching our desired goals.

The second part of this series will help you identify misinformation online more easily. We’ll talk about media bias and our own biases and how those affect what we read online. You will learn to be savvier about online content in news sources, social media, photos, and videos. The first class is not a prerequisite for signing up for this one.
