Case numbers for COVID are declining.
Hospitalizations are decreasing. Jefferson County has moved into the “CLEAR” phase and businesses are calling employees back into the office. “Together we move Forward” is progressing but there is one big problem...
Employers are struggling to find workers. Many Evergreen businesses are still closed one or two days a week. We ask that everyone be patient while our businesses struggle to find employees and get them trained to the duties. If you have a student looking for summer employment, now is a great time for them to learn new skills while pocketing some cash to carry them through the school year.
Be sure to check the Chamber website for many job openings in our community. Your Evergreen Chamber is also hosting a job fair this coming Monday, May 24 from 10am - 2pm at El Rancho Brewery. If you are interested in participating as an employer it's not too late! Just email Nancy at [email protected] to be added to the list!

Unemployment in Evergreen |

Unemployment is a hot topic across the country and Evergreen businesses are feeling the pinch as well. The local community unemployment issue is complicated by the fact that:
a. Many of our residents are retired
b. Many of our residents choose not to seek employment outside of the home.
Those currently receiving unemployment benefits could see those benefits halted if they choose not to return to work.

Jefferson Center is a nonprofit, community-focused mental health care, wellness, and substance use services provider. For over 60 years, we have offered a full range of mental health and substance use treatment and resources to support the whole health of the members of our community.
Q. How would you describe this company's values?
Serving our community is at the core of everything we do. It’s our policy and our mission to be inclusive and mindful of the diversity of everyone who comes through our doors. Our staff is dedicated to understanding the unique needs of each client and works to build on the client’s natural strengths and supports.
Q. What was the last big achievement that was celebrated?
We’ve had quite a few achievements to accomplish in the past few months. In March, we were proud to have been named one of the recipients of the Woman-Led Culture Excellence Award in celebration of Women’s History Month. The same month, we received the Top Workplaces Award from the Denver Post for the ninth year in a row. This achievement is particularly special to us because it’s a reflection of our incredible staff and the people who dedicate their talents, energy, and creativity to serving our community every single day.
Q. What's new with your business?
In the past year, we’ve transitioned to providing both in-person and telehealth appointments to make accessing care easier for everyone. We also introduced mental health kiosks in our mountain communities, which offers opportunities for residents with limited resources to connect with behavioral health services. On the horizon, we are excited to open the doors to our new residential and inpatient treatment programs, designed to help individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions develop healthy coping strategies.
