Moving in progress
As we send out this month's newsletter, furniture is being moved from the Studio on the Village Green to its new location just down the street. Opening the retail shop twenty years ago gave me the opportunity to bring you more products, have a space to teach classes and, best of all, it allowed me to meet so many of you. While I will miss that terribly, the closing of the brick and mortar store certainly does not mean that I am retiring. I will still be designing fabric and the internet business will continue to bring you my fabric, designs and quilting products. I will be expanding my online instruction with ongoing video lessons such as those currently on border prints. Make sure to check out my YouTube channel to see them all.

Speaking of my border print lessons, don't miss this month's lesson, the new mini-quilt I've created plus a look ahead at our upcoming web specials all in this newsletter.
New Colvin Run Mill Mini-Quilt
For this new mini-quilt, I took inspiration from Colvin Run Mill just down the road here in Great Falls. Built in the early 1800s, it is the only operational 19th-century water-powered mill in the area. The quilt reflects the movement found in the mill's wheel while its soft, cool blues remind us of the flowing water. This mini-quilt has two options for assembly.

Border Print Lesson #5 - Creating Curves

Windows
Creating curves using border print fabric with all of those straight lines seems impossible but it is actually easier than you would think. One look at my Windows quilt illustrates that it can be done.  This month's lesson shows you that it is possible with a bit of time and patience. Another example is our Migrations table topper.

To see how you can create this effect, see Border Print Lesson #5 - Creating Curves.

Upcoming Web Specials
Once we are settled in our new location, we have some exciting web specials for you. Back by popular demand, I have broken out some of my vintage fabric which will return in half-yard bundles plus we have some of our older batiks by the yard at closeout prices. At the end of the month, we will introduce our new Grand Bundle and we know you are going to love it.

Urban Sunset is a photo my staff member, Nancy, took on an evening walk on the campus of Marymount University near her home in Arlington, VA. As soon as I saw the photo, I knew that the vivid colors in the sky along with the neutrals of the surrounding buildings would be a wonderful palette for a new fabric bundle. I can't wait to share it with you.
And Finally...
In these trying times we are all going through I just want to share this photo of my grandson Emmett with the family's new puppy, Rufus. I hope it puts a smile on your face.
