December 7, 2019
Dear

Our Studio Christmas Stocking kits are on sale and can be made in a day.
It is hard to believe it is December already and the holiday season is in full swing.  As we bundle up and brace for the cold, imagine yourself on the beautiful Greek island of Santorini with evening breezes, clear waters and perfect temperatures. Craftours has released the full details of my trip to Greece and more. I would love to have you join me on this great adventure. See below for information.

Many of you have been asking when I would release a pattern for you based on my Quilter's Quest quilt, Open Book. The pattern has been finalized and you'll find it here.

Besides news of my upcoming trips, in this month's newsletter we have information about a well-loved quilt design, our annual gift ideas, a quilt tip and the final lesson for our BOM, Stellaris.

And finally, may this wonderful time of the year remind us of our many blessings and be a season filled with peace and joy.
Lotus
With the renewed interest in appliqué and for those who are new to our newsletter, in the coming months, we want to call attention to some of our most popular kits. This month, we want to reintroduce Lotus, a quilt based on one of the oldest and most recognized designs in quilting.

This dynamic Lone Star quilt is surrounded by appliqué and comes in three colorways. The star is strip-pieced, a method known for being quick and accurate. Click here to visit our website for tips using this method. The pattern includes full size tissues for the appliqué.  If you haven't caught the appliqué bug you can create the same design by embroidering with perle cotton or simply leave it out.

Come Travel the World
This holiday season, give yourself the gift of a lifetime.  I love to travel and I'd love to have you join me for my upcoming trips with Craftours.  These trips are designed to give you an unforgettable experience combining travel, arts and crafts.

In May, we travel to Greece to visit Athens, the cradle of Western civilization, the festive atmosphere of the island of Mykonos and the beautiful black sand beaches of Santorini.

Next October, we are off to Uzbekistan where we'll visit mosques, mausoleums and other sites linked to the ancient Silk Road.

And finally, in January 2021, join me as we travel to Kenya for an incredible safari adventure.

Quilt Tip - Videos, Tutorials and Border Prints
Those of you who have been participating in our Block of the Month, Stellaris, will be getting ready to put the borders on your quilt. Even if you are not working on this project, I hope you give border print fabrics a try. These fabrics are designed with the quilter in mind and you may be surprised at all of the possibilities.

Remember, Stellaris is a rectangular quilt, not a square one, so there is something a little different about adding your border prints. There is a wealth of information on working with border print fabrics on our website. You'll find my videos on these fabrics here.
2019 BOM, Stellaris - Lesson #9
Congratulations! You have made it to the final lesson of our Block/Technique of the Month, Stellaris. This month you will be adding your borders and finishing your quilt top.

If you haven't started Stellaris but would like to give it a try, it is not too late. In addition to this month's lesson, the download link below will give you access to all of the lessons and videos we have shared so far. Don't wait though. Stellaris free downloads will only be available until January 31, 2020.
