June 1, 2019
How can it be June already?  This past month has simply flown by.  I am just back from a trip out west to visit family.  I cannot believe how tall my grandchildren have grown since I saw them last. As usual we had projects galore, Polly needed a "prairie girl" outfit for a unit they are studying in school and Emmett kept us entertained with his progress on the drums...oh, my what was I thinking when we gave him the drum set? He actually is pretty good, though.

Now, as I return home, I'm looking ahead to the many quilters who will be visiting us this summer.  Out on the roads starting June 21 will be thousands of quilters as the Row by Row Experience begins. Don't miss the details of this fun event below. Also, we have information on another shop hop, our popular Quilters' Quest, in the fall.

New fabrics, exciting quilting adventures, quilt tips and the next lesson for Stellaris can all be found in this month's newsletter.
Aruba Holiday Has Arrived
As an addition to my Aruba collection, Aruba Holiday has arrived at the Studio.  It is a small collection of 10 fabrics in bright tones of the tropics in colors suitable for the winter holidays.

I have recolored two different kits using these new fabrics. Stellaris, my Technique of the Month, and the Stellaris Table Runner are both now available in the new holiday fabrics.

Two Great Shop Hops
Row by Row

Thousands of quilt shops throughout the United States, Canada and Europe are gearing up for the excitement of the Row by Row Shop Hop. The Row by Row Experience runs from June 21 through September 3 this year with the theme, "Taste the Experience."

Here's how it works: Visit any participating shop to pick up that shop's free row pattern. Make the rows, put them in a quilt with at least eight different rows and you'll be eligible to win super prizes. For a full explanation of how you can win, click here.

Along with the other Quilters' Quest shops, we have something special for this year's Row by Row event. Each shop's official row is a vintage diner sign.  Join them together to create a delicious quilt.  Our sign, "Hot Stuff" depicts a jar of my homemade hot pepper jam.

For all of you who are not able to stop in the Studio, I have created a fun project.  Forklift is not an official row but has been inspired by the theme. This tessellating fork pattern is available in kits for a mini- or lap-size quilt and will be available for purchase on our website starting June 21.
Quilters' Quest Takes You on a Book Tour
This year's Quilters' Quest takes place October 11-20. This year our theme is books and we are going on a book tour. Dive into the pages of our favorite books and authors. Each shop will pick a book or author to feature during the Quest. The colors of our Quest palette will be reminiscent of the covers of our favorite, well-read books.
You can visit all 10 shops on your own or join us on one of our two Studio buses.  We are currently taking reservations for both of our buses.  For dates, details and to register for the buses, you'll find lots of information on both the Studio website and the Quest website.

New Arabic Tiles Colorway
Since we are featuring border prints in this month's Stellaris lesson, I yielded to the popular request to do another color way for my popular Arabic Tiles quilt.  This new version in vibrant reds and golds, is made almost exclusively from border print fabric.  I created this vibrant version in reds and golds. Our Arabic Tiles template set makes cutting the pieces very easy.

2019 BOM, Stellaris - Lesson #3
So far, we covered how to make and use templates and foundation paper piecing.  This month we will be working with border print fabric, focusing on how to cut it for borders and blocks.

The Holiday version of Stellaris, now available for purchase.
This is a free program available to just our newsletter subscribers. Each newsletter will have a link to a new written and video lesson plus you will have access to all past lessons.
