Summer Salon Series Wraps Up

We have one more scheduled session, and we'd love for you to join us!

Join us as we explore American democracy, culture, and music through changing times in our nation. We will focus primarily on the sixties while utilizing songs, books, videos, and other online sources as we reflect on the culture of this era and make connections that are still meaningful today. It is always helpful to understand our history and our shared cultural values as we try to find our way (hope, courage, purpose, and connection in the world today).

Presentations will include audio and video clips, followed by a guided and inclusive discussion. Participants will feel engaged and empowered toward sharing, understanding, and caring.

A Note from Rev. Seth Stearns

Greetings Beloved Community!

I hope you all have been having a wonderful summer. It sure seems like it has gone by quickly. We enjoyed the wonderful and well-attended Summer Salon Series events that took place. We are so grateful to Trudy Krisher, Sam Schaadt, and Dr. Avery Solomon for sharing their interests, passion, and gifts with us.

Our new church program year begins each September with Kick-Off Weekend followed by the re-start of programming such as The Gathering, Midweek Missions/Youth Choirs, and Crossroads. The program year for the Spiritual Life & Learning Center will be launching as well.

Thursdays at 10 and Sunday Intersections (Adult Sunday School) will begin again, and gatherings such as Tai Chi, Women Living the Question, and Centering Prayer will continue through the remainder of 2025 and into 2026. You will be hearing more about the different groups and sessions soon. We hope you will check out the many offerings and explore some different experiences. It is our intent to offer unique experiences that will be meaningful no matter where you are on your spiritual journey.

We are very excited to be partnering with First Congregational Church and the Gladden Lecture Series in bringing scholar and author, Dr. Pete Enns, to Columbus October 4 and 5, 2025. Pete is the host of the only God-ordained podcast on the internet, The Bible for Normal People. He will deliver a presentation at First Congregational Church on October 4, 2025, from 2 - 5 pm. All are welcome. He will then preach at all three services at First Community on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Registration can be accessed through the graphic below.

Click on each graphic below to learn more about ongoing programming. While registration is not necessary for any program, it can help ensure you have the latest updates about the group and offers a way to email you about any changes or special announcements.

New and exciting programs will be coming throughout the program year, so be sure to be on the lookout for updates and graphics from time to time.

Jen and I look forward to another year of growth, exploration, and community with all of you.

Blessings,

Rev. Seth Stearns

A Note from Nadia:

"Because first and foremost, this is not the moment to concede the Christian faith to nationalists. Nor is it the moment to double down on things that don't work.

I'm not willing to keep having my ideas about myself, other people and the world be more informed by shit I read on the internet than on what I experience in my actual life.

So I want to gather with you, laugh with you, and sing with you."
