Commentary from our Co-Chairs

by Jerry Browning and Jayne Kaylor

Co-Chairs of the Spiritual Life & Learning Center Council

As we enter the month of November and our minds drift to gatherings for the holidays, we are also aware of our grandparenting and how we desire to guide our grandchildren in giving thanks. We found this NPR Life Kit interesting and share the following information with hopes that it has value for you also.

Giving thanks is good for you. Here's how to make it a habit : Life Kit : NPR

We are looking forward to building upon the habit of gratitude at "Creatively Cultivating Gratitude" on November 18. We hope you can join us!

We are grateful to each of you who participate in the Spiritual Life & Learning Center and wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.

Peace and warmth,

Jayne and Jerry

Sustaining the Center

SUSTAINING THE SPIRITUAL LIFE & LEARNING CENTER

We are now in the fourth quarter of the year, thus we are reminded that a substantial majority of charitable giving takes place in the fourth quarter, so we humbly ask that donors and prospective donors seriously consider supporting the Spiritual Life & Learning Center as they fulfil their philanthropic goals for 2023 and plan ahead for 2024. Donors are not just renewing their support for the Center, but are also making an investment in experiences which nurture their and fellow participants’ minds, hearts and bodies and which have a profound impact on their well-being.

In 2024, we are having Rev. Dr. Karen Georgia Thompson, the new General Minister and President of the UCC, and Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III, an extremely well-known pastor, author, and speaker, as part of our Spiritual Searcher program. However, it does take substantial resources to bring in well-known and dynamic speakers, as well as sponsoring the small groups which are so dear to us, so we hope that you will support our programs and events.

We would like to again thank our generous donors for their past support and encourage them to continue their very important donations, as well as asking participants who have not donated in the past to consider how SLLC adds a significant component to their spiritual growth. Thank you so much for being part of the Spiritual Life & Learning Center and for your support.
