2023 Young Professional of the Year

We are thrilled to announce that Nicole Plunkett has been awarded the 2023 Young Professional of the Year by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce. This recognition highlights Nicole's outstanding leadership and significant contributions to our local community. The Young Professional of the Year award is given to an individual under the age of 40 who demonstrates exceptional leadership and plays a vital role in the success of local organizations. Nicole's achievements and dedication have set her apart as a true leader, making a positive impact on Palm Beach North Nicole's influence extends beyond her professional roles. As a member of the Chamber's Board of Directors and a Women in Business Mentorship Bootcamp participant, Nicole has inspired and gained community-wide support through her commitment to our region. In addition to her professional endeavors, Nicole founded Future Landscape Architects of America, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating K-12 students about the exciting career field of landscape architecture. Her passion for nurturing the next generation of professionals and her dedication to promoting education and career opportunities have been truly remarkable.

The award ceremony, held on May 11th at the Pelican Club in Jupiter, was a memorable event where Nicole and other deserving nominees were celebrated. We would also like to extend our congratulations to Brett Leone from the City of Palm Beach Gardens and Andrew George from the Honda Classic for their remarkable achievements. Please join us in congratulating Nicole on this well-deserved honor.

CH Visits BeeArt Greenwall Gallery

Boca Raton, Florida

At Cotleur & Hearing, we are always looking for ways to collaborate with other businesses and organizations in our industry. Recently, several of us took the Brightline to Boca Raton to visit BeeArt Greenwall Gallery. This company specializes in creating Greenwalls and Greenart, both live and faux. If you have ever seen the GreenWall on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, then you have seen their work. It is spectacular! They have also created the beautiful wall designed by EDSA at Downtown at the Gardens, one of Cotleur & Hearing’s projects, incorporating art by Emmanuel Gonzales into the Greenwall. This company creates and maintains the live walls and have partnered with GSKY, a manufacturer that created a removable drip irrigation system utilizing drip irrigation that is zoned for optimal performance and continuity. Gsky’s portfolio is impressive, working with clients like Google, Nike, Marriot, American Express, Microsoft and Whole Foods. We hope to collaborate with both of these companies on some creative new projects in the future.

CH's Leah Heinzelmann Visits UF

Gainesville, Florida

The ASLA Florida Officers had the opportunity to engage with the seniors at the University of Florida's Professional Practice Class. President-Elect Leah Heinzelmann and the other officers delivered a presentation on professional ethics, licensure, and starting out as a young professional in landscape architecture. Following the class, the Gainesville section organized a gathering for all the landscape architecture students to celebrate the end of finals week. Such events provide an excellent opportunity for networking, building connections, and fostering a sense of community within the field.

Brittany McInnis joined Cotleur & Hearing as a Property Management Bookkeeper in 2023. Brittany is a native Floridian and Massachusetts hybrid; graduating from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Brittany works under the supervision of Financial Manager, Sandra Bruorton. As a member of the Cotleur & Hearing Team, she handles the bookkeeping and partial property management of several commercial entities across Martin and Palm Beach Counties. After taking some time off to raise her young family, Brittany is excited to once again pursue her passion in finances and management. In her personal time, she likes to spend time with her family, cook, and travel.
