|
It's time to step up and volunteer for Corinth Boards & Commissions! Boards, commissions, and committees have an important role in assisting the City Council in fulfilling its obligations to the residents of Corinth. Participation on a board, commission, or committee provides residents an opportunity to understand the governmental process and play a vital role in the communication process between the residents of Corinth and our elected officials.
If you are interested in serving on a board, commission, or committee, please fill out an application below by Monday, August 15, 2022, to be considered for the 2022-2023 Boards, Commissions, and Committees. This is a 2-year term.
Applicants will be required to attend a 10-minute interview with the City Council. Interview slots will be scheduled from 5:45-8:45 p.m.

- August 29 - Keep Corinth Beautiful Board, Parks & Recreation Board, Finance Audit Committee, Ethics Committee

CORINTH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
|
|
|
|
The Corinth Economic Development Corporation works closely with the Mayor and City Council to develop a shared vision for economic growth and sustain a positive business environment within the City.
This board has seven regular members, and meets on the 1st Monday of each month at Corinth City Hall. Applications will be accepted for three places this year.

|
PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
|
|
|
|
The purpose of the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) is to act as an advisory board on all matters relating to zoning, city planning, and development applications. The Commission’s primary function is to prepare and update the City’s master plan to ensure orderly growth and preserve the unique character of the community.
The commission has five regular members, plus two alternates, and meets on the 4th Monday of each month at Corinth City Hall. Applications will be accepted for three places this year.

Keep Corinth Beautiful actively promotes beautification and community improvement, litter prevention, and the minimization of solid waste. The Board’s mission is to build a united, energetic, and beautiful community through beautification projects, community clean-up events, tree plantings, gardening, recycling, and community outreach.
The Board is comprised of nine members and meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Corinth City Hall. Applications will be accepted for four places this year.

The purpose of the Finance Audit Committee is to assist the City Council in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities for the annual audit process, the development of financial policies and procedures, Investment transactions and reports, and the system of internal controls.
The committee is comprised of five members including the City Manager, the Mayor, two members of the City Council and two representatives from the community. They meet on the 3rd Thursday following the end of each quarter at Corinth City Hall. Applications will be accepted for one place this year.

The City of Corinth adopted a Code of Ethics policy requiring that public officials and employees be independent, impartial, and responsible while representing the City in any capacity for which he/she was appointed or elected. The City of Corinth Ethics Commission is responsible for implementation, enforcement, and recommending amendments to the Code of Ethics.
The Committee is made up of five regular members and meets on an as needed basis at Corinth City Hall. Applications will be accepted for two places this year.

PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD
|
|
|
|
The Corinth Parks and Recreation Board serves as an advisory committee to the Mayor and City Council and the Director of Public Works pertaining to parks and recreation and cooperates with other governmental agencies, civic groups, and all citizens of the City in the advancement of sound parks and recreation planning and programming.
The board is comprised of five regular members and meets on an as needed basis at Corinth Public Works Facility. Applications will be accepted for two places this year.

BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS/
BOARD OF CONSTRUCTION APPEALS
|
|
|
|
The Board of Adjustments (BOA) is a quasi-judicial body that rules on variances, exceptions, and appeals to the Zoning Ordinance. The City Council has no review authority over decisions of the Board of Adjustments.
The purpose of the Board of Construction Appeals (BOCA) is to provide an appeal process for applicants wishing to appeal a decision, interpretation or ruling of the Director of Planning and Development or the Building Official regarding construction codes or building regulations adopted by the City.
This board is comprised of five regular members plus two alternates, and meets on an as needed basis at Corinth City Hall. Applications will be accepted for three places this year.
