Pastoral Perspective

One Family, One Future

God's family is our family. It's important that we recognize our brothers and sisters in Christ. "There is...one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism," is not a tagline, but a profound Spiritual reality (Ephesians 4:5, ESV).

Notice the famous and important use of the word, " one ," used in Ephesians 4:4-6: "There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." It is clear that we belong to God in Christ, and that we are, if I can repeat a popular phrase, "in this together."

And, we share a wonderful future together with God in Christ:

"Let us rejoice and exult
  and give him the glory,
for the marriage of the Lamb has come,
and his Bride has made herself ready;" - Revelation 19:7, ESV

Therefore, let us live like One Family with One Future now. For the apostle Paul says, "To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:"--1 Corinthians 1:2, ESV

What a blessing to be, "called to be saints together."

We praise and thank the Lord together! --"Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name."(Psalm 30:4, ESV)

And again,
"Our Father [Who art] in heaven, Hallowed be Your name"--Matthew 6:9, ESV

Grace & Peace,
Pastor Tim
