Chair's Corner

Inspiration. What inspires you? For me, it does not take much. All I need to do is stop and look around. A gentle rain or a thunderstorm, flowers in bloom, a child’s laughter, a job well done. There are so many things happening that amaze and inspire me. What things have you drawn inspiration from recently? I would love to hear from you.

Eye Spy… Through the Eyes of Those We Serve
Terri Tucker

Where do we find our brand? By looking through the eyes of others.Where do we find our differentiation? By looking through the eyes of others. Where do we find our success? By looking through the eyes of those we serve to find how to emotionally connect. In this 50-minute engaging conversation we will explore the power of seeing what our customers see…and how to learn, apply and grow based on that vision. We will understand how differentiation matters and how stories are created and shared about our experiences and our offerings. Be prepared to think and share, learn and plan to apply. This will not be a “sit and get” presentation but, rather, a large conversation about thinking and doing.

Please pre-register to help ensure accurate account of meals and seats. Online pre-registration is $15 for members and $18 for guests until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. After the pre-registration deadline, attendees can register/pay at the door. Prices will be $18 for members and $21 for guests. We hope to see you there!

Committee Feature
Monthly Program

If you ask a professional around Columbia what is one thing that Women's Network is known for, you'll probably hear something regarding our Monthly Luncheons. Monthly Program Committee is a committee of focused, thoughtful, and strategic individuals who brainstorm and execute the luncheons topics, explore national speakers, and compile the feedback from all luncheons to help improve our member experiences. They all have a passion for Women's Network and the superior product that they strive to produce each month. These women will welcome you with open arms, encourage your input, and help you to take on a volunteer role (if its your cup of tea). Catch the next committee meeting in October, be on the front end of our monthly event, and prepare to be blown away by the ideas floating around in the room.

Member Profile
Sara Cochran, University of Missouri System

When you meet Sara, you will instantly understand why her friends describe her as perceptive, inclusive, and graceful: not only is she a delight to visit with, she is incredibly interesting and kind. Originally from Cushing, OK, Sara now finds herself going on year five in Columbia where you might catch her working as the Entrepreneurial Programs Manager/Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship, snuggling her dog (Sadie the Cavapoo) or entranced in one of the four books on her 'currently reading' list. Sara's list of college/degrees only barely exceeds her list of bucket-list trips, of which a return trip to New Zealand is at the top of (she was last there 20 years ago). Catch her at a mixer or shoot her an email to meet for coffee; she's one individual who will have you feeling empowered and ready to reach for the stars the minute you walk away.
