DeKalb County
Our very own Georgia Dream Team member Dr. Char-Shenda Covington participated in DeKalb County Schools' Nutrition Services Holiday Giving Program. With the help of an anonymous donor, the district was able to host students and their families from December 26 - January 3. This year they were able to provide 400 meals! DCPS is the first school district in the state to offer such an amazing holiday meal plan. Watch the news segment here: 400 meals over holiday break .
North Carolina
Over the holiday break North Carolina TAG Participant, Merisha Leak, was able to meet with Rachel Hunt, daughter of former governor Jim Hunt and newly elected State Representative of District 103 in North Carolina's General Assembly. Merisha was able to speak about her work as a DTEC-TAG Change Agent along with other issues with North Carolina's education systems. Among Representative Hunt were other educational advocates from the State of North Carolina.
