2025 Idaho REALTORS® Convention in Coeur d’Alene – THANK YOU!

What an incredible week in Coeur d’Alene! Thank you to every member who attended, engaged, volunteered, taught, sponsored, and helped make this one of our most successful conventions yet. Your energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to one another are what make this event so impactful year after year. IR had approximately 330 attendees this year, which is an incredible turnout for our North Idaho convention!

This was our first year using the IR Convention App as the central hub for schedules, RSVPs, course materials, CE check-ins, networking, and live updates. We appreciate the feedback you provided throughout the week—your input will help us continue refining and improving the app for future events.

We are excited to announce that the 2026 Idaho REALTORS® Convention will take place in Sun Valley from October 5–9, 2026!

We will share more details about pricing and ticket information in the new year. Thank you again for your participation and support.

Bylaws Updates for Members

During the Annual Membership Meeting, members approved several important updates to the Idaho REALTORS® Bylaws to improve clarity, efficiency, and compliance with NAR policy. These changes included adding a formal definition of “member in good standing,” expanding exemptions to the “all or none” membership policy to include certified appraisers, and adopting new Fair Housing training requirements for both new and current members on a recurring three-year cycle. Members also approved a more efficient election process by allowing uncontested races to be elected by acclamation rather than requiring a formal ballot. In addition, minor editorial changes may now be made without a full vote (with notice to members), and future NAR-mandated bylaws changes will be automatically adopted to ensure IR remains current and compliant.

RPAC Bylaws Updates

Following the membership meeting, the Board of Directors also adopted updates to the RPAC Bylaws to modernize how the PAC operates and better sustain our advocacy efforts over time. These changes create a formal spending target to guide campaign support and ensure long-term financial sustainability, while still allowing the Trustees to exceed the target when necessary with a two-thirds vote. The amendments also allow a small portion of RPAC funds (estimated at less than 5%) to be used for the administrative and advocacy work required to manage the PAC—costs that have historically been fully subsidized by member dues. These updates recognize the true scope of RPAC’s impact and help ensure our advocacy remains strong, strategic, and member-driven.

2025 Presidents Report from Julie Anglesey

During the Convention General Membership Meeting, President Julie Anglesey shared key updates on the work IR is doing to strengthen our organization and better serve our members.

5x25 PAG – Planning for the Future of Our Facilities

President Julie Anglesey shared the completed findings of the 5x25 PAG, which was tasked with evaluating Idaho REALTORS® facility needs over the next 25 years and recommending a path forward.

Key findings included:

  • The current office has adequate short-term space but cannot accommodate larger meetings or significant staff growth.
  • Limited parking is a major barrier to hosting committees and trainings in-house.
  • Renovating the current building is not viable, as parking constraints would still limit expansion.

Final Recommendations:

The PAG recommended that IR:

  1. Complete necessary deferred maintenance on the current building.
  2. Further analyze future space needs, possibly with a consultant.
  3. Continue reserving funds toward the purchase or construction of a new building.
  4. Establish a clear policy or process that allows IR to purchase or build a new facility in a timely manner when the right opportunity arises.

New Ethical Member Award

Julie also announced the launch of a new statewide honor—the Idaho REALTOR® Ethical Leadership Award. This award will recognize REALTORS® who lead with integrity, model the highest ethical standards, and strengthen trust in our profession.

Unlike traditional production-based awards, this recognition is focused on ethics, leadership, service, and professionalism. It highlights members who go beyond meeting the Code of Ethics and actively uphold the values that define what it means to be a REALTOR®.

Eligibility is based on meaningful ethical involvement, such as:

  • Earning the IRIS Endorsement,
  • Serving as a certified ombudsman or mediator,
  • Participating on a Grievance or Professional Standards Committee,
  • And maintaining a clear ethics record.

Nominees must also have served in an elected or appointed leadership role at the local, state, or national level within the past five years and be nominated by their local association or IR leadership.

This new award gives us an important opportunity to celebrate REALTORS® who set the standard for professionalism, protect the reputation of our industry, and inspire others to lead with integrity. The first recipient will be recognized at the 2026 Convention's Awards Luncheon.

Congratulations to Our 2024 Award Winners!

At the Awards Luncheon on Thursday, October 2nd during Convention, we had the privilege of recognizing two outstanding REALTORS® who exemplify professionalism, service, leadership, and the heart of our industry.

Good Neighbor Award – Andrew Graham (Coeur d’Alene Regional REALTORS®)

This year’s Good Neighbor Award nominees represented incredible community impact across Idaho. The 2025 finalists supported causes such as homelessness, recovery, parks, children’s health, and more—but one project stood out for its rapid growth and life-changing support for local families.

Andrew Graham, founder of Presents with a Purpose, has grown a small Christmas gift drive into a program that now serves over 230 students every year. Beyond gifts, the program provides families with essential items such as food, gas, and help with utility bills, making a real difference in moments of need.

Andrew’s passion for service and his belief that REALTORS® should lift their communities made him the clear choice for this honor. Congratulations to Andrew Graham, the 2025 Good Neighbor Award winner!

REALTOR® of the Year – Patrick Malone (Greater Idaho Falls Association of REALTORS®)

The REALTOR® of the Year is the highest honor a member can receive in our association. Nominees are evaluated on local, state, and national involvement, community leadership, ethics, professionalism, and service to the industry.

This year’s candidates were exceptional, but one REALTOR® truly embodied the spirit of leadership and service at every level.

Patrick Malone has dedicated more than 27 years to elevating the REALTOR® profession with integrity, mentorship, and advocacy.

Highlights of Patrick’s service include:

  • Past President of Idaho REALTORS® (2022)
  • Current NAR Director and national committee member
  • RPAC Hall of Fame, President’s Circle, and Golden R Major Investor
  • C2EX (twice) and Fairhaven Housing Program graduate
  • President of Greater Idaho Falls Association of REALTORS®
  • Mentor, orientation instructor, and leader for new members
  • Planning & Zoning Commissioner, nonprofit board member, and lifelong community volunteer

Patrick is known for lifting others up, protecting private property rights, and leading with humility and passion. He is a role model for what it means to be a REALTOR® in every sense of the word.

Congratulations to our 2025 REALTOR® of the Year, Patrick Malone!

Introducing IRIS: The Idaho REALTORS® Integrity Seal

A Legacy Project of the 2025 Leadership Academy

One of the most exciting accomplishments unveiled at Convention was the launch of IRIS – the Idaho REALTORS® Integrity Seal, a new statewide endorsement that recognizes REALTORS® who consistently demonstrate the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, service, and leadership.

What makes IRIS even more meaningful is how it was created.

IRIS is the official class project of the 2025 Idaho REALTORS® Leadership Academy. These members invested their time, research, and passion into building a program that will raise the bar for our entire profession and publicly highlight REALTORS® who lead with integrity.

We extend a sincere thank you to the 2025 Leadership Academy class for their vision, hard work, and commitment to elevating our industry. Their efforts have resulted in a program that will benefit members and consumers for years to come.

What is IRIS?

IRIS is an endorsement—not a designation—earned through professionalism, education, service, and a clean ethics record. Recipients will be recognized with a certificate, pin, and the ability to use the IRIS logo in their marketing to signal trust and integrity to clients and the public.

Scam Alert: Protect Yourself from Fake Showing & Meeting Invites

cybersecurity image

We recently shared an important warning about a new email scam targeting REALTORS®. To learn more visit our warning site for more information.

Here’s a quick summary to help you stay safe.

How the scam works:

Scammers send a fake showing or video meeting invitation with a link. When clicked, the link leads to a malicious website that attempts to install malware or steal credentials.

Red flags to watch for:

  • Sender email doesn’t match the broker/MLS or client
  • Odd domain names or misspellings (“zoom-meetings[dot]com” or “Goog1e Meet”)
  • Being told you must use their link instead of your firm’s platform
  • Requests to download software you already have
  • Urgent or high-pressure tone

Protect yourself:

  • Always verify the sender
  • Hover over links before clicking
  • When in doubt—don’t click! Contact the sender through a known channel
  • Staying alert protects both your business and your clients.

Don't Forget to Pay Your Dues!

Keep your eye out for 2026 invoices.

2026 dues are to be paid to ensure good standing for next year.
