Remembering Jim Johnston

On November 26th, W. James "Jim" Johnston passed away, surrounded by his loved ones in the comfort of his own home.

Jim was a cornerstone of Idaho REALTORS®, a tireless advocate, and a trusted mentor whose impact will be felt for generations. His career, spanning over 50 years, was marked by an unparalleled commitment to the real estate profession and a legacy of service, leadership, and generosity. Applications Due by 5:00pm MT on December 20th

Idaho REALTORS® is seeking applications for the position of Federal Political Coordinator (FPC) to support Senator Mike Crapo. Applications will be accepted through December 20th. Candidates with political or leadership experience will be given priority consideration. Federal Political Coordinators (FPCs) are crucial liaisons between Idaho REALTORS® and members of Congress. Their primary role is to develop a relationship with a designated Member of Congress, advocating on issues that benefit all REALTORS®. Key responsibilities include:

Responding to NAR’s Calls for Action
Regularly contacting their Member of Congress
Attending required trainings
Ensuring timely use and delivery of RPAC funds
Attending the annual Midyear Meeting in Washington DC
Building a supporting team of REALTORS® in their district.

Their efforts ensure effective communication and advocacy for REALTORS® at the federal level.

The purpose of the Idaho REALTORS® Leadership Academy is to offer local Presidents, President Elects, First Vice Presidents/Treasurers the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge necessary to confidently lead their local board/association.

Participants can expect to acquire the following skills and knowledge from the Idaho REALTORS® Leadership Academy:

Local, State, and National Association Governance and Administration
Conducting Efficient Meetings
Effective Communication Strategies
Strategic Planning and Implementation
Personnel Management and Team Building

Candidates will work together focusing on strengthening their leadership skills. Sessions promote the development of leadership skills through presentations from subject matter experts, team-building exercises, personal analysis and networking.

US District Court for Western District of Missouri Grants Final Approval of NAR Settlement

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri has approved the NAR settlement agreement to resolve class action claims about broker commissions. This decision releases liability for over 1.4 million NAR members and related organizations, while requiring members to follow new practice changes.

Mark Your Calendars: 2025 Day at the Capitol is February 4th

Mark your calendars for Idaho REALTORS® 2025 Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, February 4th, 2025, at the Lincoln Auditorium in the Boise Capitol Building. This signature event offers a unique opportunity for members to connect with Idaho’s Constitutional Officers, Legislators, and Judicial Representatives while gaining valuable insights into our advocacy efforts at the state level. The program kicks off in the afternoon and concludes with a celebratory happy hour at the Crystal Ballroom in the Hoff Building, located at 802 W Bannock St #202, Boise, ID 83702. Open to all REALTOR® members, this is a must-attend event that highlights the strength of our community and our commitment to supporting homeownership and property rights in Idaho. We hope to see you there!

Thank You For Participating in the 2024 Toys for Tots Toy Drive!

Idaho REALTORS® is thrilled to announce the success of our recent Virtual Toy Drive for Toys for Tots, which concluded on November 30th, 2024. Thanks to the generosity and community spirit of our members, we collected 121 items valued at an impressive $1,958.08!

Because of the donors contributing to this drive, these toys will help brighten the holiday season for children in need across multiple Idaho locations. Each donation ensures that the spirit of giving reaches families who need it most.
